    Yeah
Did about 5 hours of electrical mods yesterday. It’s hard to make wiring look cool in photos though…

Added some new dual push switches to replace single ones (added 2 new accessories)
    9F85FE83-3DB2-4AE3-AED2-C074458F2D36.jpg

The air compressor has been installed a few weeks but it was just wired temporarily till now. I needed to run a heavy gauge wire to the rear for it (it had been piggybacked off the trailer wiring to get me through hunting season) so for once I planned ahead and bundled 2 extra wires with it for future mods!

Rock lights had run off the bed light circuit before so they work with the doors and lock/unlock but I added, and then isolated, a switch so I can turn them on when needed without the bed light yet still let the bed light circuit control them as before with doors. This way when I’m ridin my bed light isn’t shining at the guy behind me.

All wiring is soldered, all connectors are legit

That was yesterday, they day before I did the cowl intake.

    Almost forgot my bumper.

Still on the itinerary for this weekend is my URD short shifter but we’re riding tonight so the rest of the weekend may be filled with repairs or even just relaxing.

The DB cover looks clean w/o the cleats. As much as I like the look of the cover w/o cleats, I can’t say that the cleats aren’t useful for me.

Let us know how the URD short shifter goes. I was just on their website looking at them. Price is right if they work well.

You never know. It's one of those highly debated topics where people often hold a very strong opinion and think you should live by theirs.

I'd assume that the dash is correct if it says 4Lo over the switch. If you have another vehicle, I wouldnt risk the damage.

Thanks! I installed it back in October and just haven't brought myself to drill the holes yet. I plan to once I need them.

    Yeah
I’m definitely going to install it but TBH if there’s another option (idk if there is) I’d look there. Machining it’s self looks good but the part was gouged to hell from being mishandled during or after production. I’m not talking scratches, I’m talking deep gouges I’ll need to clean up before install. I called URD and they played it off like it was nothing. I have a machinist buddy I showed when the part got here last week, he said if this is a one time issue it should have been caught and never left the factory, that or they’re just blatantly mishandling everything…

Hate to bad mouth a supporting vendor here but it’s pretty disappointing opening up a new part and it being in the condition this thing was in.
The guy on the phone claimed it was damage from when they clamp it down on the CNC, that could definitely be the case but if so there needs to be a final clean up process…

will I install this thing? Yep. But I’m gonna have to spend some time fixing their fuck ups first. Again not just small scratches, these are major gouges in the mating surfaces which will definitely effect how it seals when bolted down.

looks awesome. I like the dual switch idea to add more to those spaces. That center switch panel is so much better to use than the one to the left of the wheel. Did you remove that panel to get at those or work from the climate control spot above? How’s the new intake feel and sound?

    Yeah
I like to make it really hard on myself so I didn’t remove anything, just worked through the holes lol.

It sounds awesome, butt dyno isn’t reading any different but that wasn’t the goal, I do a lot of water crossings but think actual snorkels for these trucks look horrible so this was my other option.

I plan to order one soon. I don’t see me using the cleats very often. They seem more for hunting purposes.
What have you used them for

Fortunately, I'm out now. I'm a bit too tall to stuff my boots in the bag comfortably. I just dealt with cold boots. They warmed up pretty quick after I put them on.

Wow thanks for the info. I have a manufacturing background and I understand that a part that gets chucked into a CNC can get burrs or scratches but those should be polished out in another process even if it doesn’t affect the parts function it is still a matter of pride in workmanship. A bunch of weld slag on the inside of a bumper really won’t stop it from functioning but it looks bad.
I will look at other offerings or just spend the money on another project.

I've used Amsoil products for years. They make some great stuff, including an awesome metal protectant that I've used on my '04.

Installed the USR smoked mirror turn signals (I'm not wiring up the white running light connection though) and their LED license plate lights. Little by little the truck is looking better and better. Smoked lenses look great on Midnight Black. Pretty sure there are already enough photos of both mods, so I'll refrain from adding to the mountain.
