Tesla style head unit

Thanks Arc, that's exactly what I'm looking to do.....do you use this tasker with your HU? Are you using android auto? Can you use them in tandem or it one or the other like iOS?

 

You can also make a personal automation to run when Bluetooth connects to the android radio. Apple does not let them run without asking so there is still a click involved.

It is the same as the shortcut above but will ask to run anytime it connects to the radio. In my case, it's called Tscreen.



I cant share it but this is what the settings look like.

 

I mainly use Carplay so I do not use tasker on this radio.

I do use it on my other radio to start Tlink(app like zlink) whenever Bluetooth is connected.

The radio if wifi is turned on will look for a connection. I would think you would need to use this on the phone to turn on hotspot. If your wifi does not turn on every time on the head unit tasker could take care of it.

The Tasker app would have to reside on the phone (Droid phone) and not the HU right??

 

It can be on both but it will only control the device it's on.

So it depends on what you need to do.

 

I'm at the point where I want to try to use Bluetooth for the phone aspect and wifi from the HU for all other apps/music. using my phones Hotspot capability.....but iOS Hotspot is basically off until flip Hotspot on and off.

 

You can try using the shortcuts I posted, but ios prevents the hotspot from broadcasting so it won't fully auto-connect.

 

o.k so second Monday in a row where I have jumped in my truck to go to work and my screen is black. It seems to do it if I do not drive the truck for 24+ hours. Hitting the reset button does not fix it, it seems like the tablet’s battery dies and takes a while to charge before it will turn back on. Last Monday after my 30 minute drive to work, turning the key off and then back on, threatening to rip it out of the dash and throw it in the street…it booted up.

Anyone have the same the prob or know a fix ?

 

See if there is a way to disable quick boot so it shuts down or goes to a deeper sleep when you turn the key off?

Hey man, would you happen to have a pic of your factory wiring harness on your 2012? Mine may be messed up, and I can't seem to find a good reference pic or doc anywhere on what it is supposed to look like.

Any update on the mic adapter for the phone. I can’t make calls. I keep breaking up.

 

For anyone having issue getting the OBD (TACH/MPH) to display, remove Nova Launcher per Eric. I haven't tried it yet, but that was his recommendation.
"For the obd problem. you can try uninstall NOVA LAUNCHER APP. There will display the Tach and speed show."
I'll try this at lunch today and report back.

 

Uninstalling Nova Launcher fixed my issue with OBD, and IMO makes the head unit look much cleaner.

 

Diablo, out of curiosity are you using Zlink/Car Play for your phone calls? One of the things that make "Zlink" trash to me is the phone voice quality was horrible. If so maybe try just simply using the bluetooth for your phone calls and test to see if you get better quality.

 

Yes I’m using zlink what’s the alternative?
