and Peppermint oil. All rodents hate the smell of peppermint. Soak the end of a few Q-tips with the oil and place strategically (engine bay, wire harness') outside the truck, once a year.

Installed some camp lights. Harbor freight specials, we'll see how long they hold up.

I doubt they work at all, in that case. There was a test of one that's supposed to repel cockroaches of all things. They actually climbed onto it because it was warm. I strongly suspect the only real ways to prevent rodent damage are to physically protect the wiring harness and trap rodents where you park the truck. The latter can be easy, but I really don't know about the former.

Looks nice, thanks for the link!

However, I already made the trip to the hardware store and came up with my own solution :D

Dude - that is NICE. Care to share the size/type info on those, please? And do they come in/out easily in terms of the fit?

Out with the old... Like other posts have stated, the AJT knobs are so much better. More surface area to grab and backlighting.

My 2016 doesn't even have the plastic mesh; the hole goes straight down to the cabin filter. It looks like something was intended to be attached across the top of the air intake there, where there are two holes. Does anyone know what it might have been, maybe something left over from a Gen 2?

Edit: didn't read further through the thread before I posted. Thanks @The Mink for the link below. Looks like they punted on the screen before the Gen 2s went into production. I don't remember similar on my Gen 1.

I see you added some mesh. I also closed off cowl and airbox. I live on 28 acres in the woods, price I have to pay to live in such a beautiful area. I use a spray bottle with water and 100% pure peppermint oil on all my vehicles. Make sure you buy 100% pure there are a lot of BS ones out there. I have been doing this for a year now and keeps them away. I spray it every couple of days. They are relentless, if you don't keep on top of it. I am retired and the trucks sit.

I made it like Fort Knox. I am sure you saw when you removed your cowl, there are huge holes at both ends of the cowl and those suckers used it as a runway.
