Dagnabit! Now I’m ordering these! When will this money pit end?!?!?

edit: I just received the notice that my AJT knobs were shipped.
Oh well? I guess there’s going to be a sale on radio knobs in the FS section!

I think that's the HU that came in my Sport.

The OEM knobs I ordered didn't fit, but they had this little plastic insert that can be removed, then they fit like a charm.

Unfortunately it looks like I deleted the photo of the insert, but it comes out basically how those plastic rings on olive oil bottles come out.

Someone had asked me to give an update on the painted door panels after some time had passed. They were painted in August and, I'm attaching a photo of the driver's door panel (gets the most wear & tear). Holing up just fine! I always look at my cleaning cloth when I clean the panels to see if I can detect any color being taken off - no signs of that happening. Looks like the color is very durable.

Also, my neighbor gave me a partial container of this Meguiar's product. He uses it on any exterior plastic/vinyls (around the windows, mirrors, etc) as well as interior - dash, door panels, etc. I find that it removes or covers those little scratch lines around the door handle that appeared over time. They were especially prominent on the back panel behind the door grab....I guess the back of my ring may have been the culprit in causing scratch lines. This product does a great job cleaning up those blemishes.212A14DA-81D4-49FE-A40B-1AE393F4A912.jpg

are these pieces only for it you have the OEM Tonneau cover? I just sold mine and I'm not sure if I can use these pieces with the new bedrail caps that aren't cut out? I took them out when I was swapping bedrail caps

If you're feeling brave, you can cut them.

I've got a brief how-to with pics and a template you can follow here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-ugly-blue-truck.722492/#post-25970759

    Gasket part numbers:
    • 62541-04010 - OEM bed gasket (passenger side)
    • 62542-04010 - OEM bed gasket (driver side)

Just sold my Trifold cover and helped the guy install on his car...I kept the gasket pieces but had to remove them when I put the new bedrail caps on (the ones without the cuts)...I'm getting a diamondback this weekend..My question is are these 2 parts only for the OEM cover or they come with the trucks and should be used regardless ?

They only come with the OEM tonneau rails and cover. Trucks without the tonneau kit don't have those notches and can't receive the gaskets.

I made the notches myself to cram the gaskets in there and fill the gap between the bedsides and bed front rail.

Thanks brother. So if I’m understanding. You still kept the gaskets and just finessed them in there after some modification? Legit I’m gonna try and do the same

I did the same. You'll have to use a dremel or something similar to notch the new bedrails. Also I used a bunch of RTV to really seal up the plugs as that section still leaks even with the plugs.

Thanks guys I’m going to do that. Any pics of the notch area would help (if you have any) already ordered the silicone.
