    Here's my truck!

This is my first truck ever. I bought it from a friend little over 2 months ago because I wanted something safer, something that could transport my kayak easily and something I could drive on the beach. I'm determined to learn how to work on it and take care of it. My brother is attempting to mentor me from afar since I basically know nothing.

I strung some lights up in the cap for Christmas and learned how to use the 4 wheel drive. I also managed to get all the stickers off the windows and cleaned debris out of the wheels that was making noise. I'm excited to see what I can do with it.

I will definitely wave if I see you on the road!

Tacoma Express sounds cool. So does Cars & Coffee... so long as I can get away with drinking tea instead.

One of my sisters and both of my brothers have gotten puppies in the last year or two. I don't envy them the work involved in training, but they're all really sweet, affectionate pups. I've managed to charm a few dogs I encounter at work which has been great too. At some point in the future I could see getting a dog.

I've actually gleaned some good info from the health forum already. :muscleflexing:

    Anyway...GO RAVENS!!!

I know it says I'm from PA, but I live very close to and work in Hagerstown. Actually moving even closer to H-town here soon (25 ish minutes, Mercersburg, PA way). If your brother is unable to help with some stuff I have a full array of tools (air impacts, air hammer, air grinders, etc). and welding equipment to do stuff. Don't be afraid to reach out, I have just about everything you could need to maintain your truck!

Welcome to TW, glad to see another 1st gen owner among us. We have a great group on here. Because of this damn covid we haven't had too many big TW get togethers but hopefully that changes soon because TW meets are a blast. My wife & I host camping/trail meets at our place in the WV mountains. Its just a 2hrs drive from Baltimore. We're hoping to plan something soon.

Hi neighbor! That's not too far. I'm actually just across the border south of Waynesboro in Smithsburg. My brother lives in Central America, so I only see him when he visits which is once a year at best.

I will totally take you up on your offer. I'm a hands on learner so any opportunity I have to learn from someone else, I'll take. I actually already started another thread for an issue I've discovered here.

Once I get the new house setup and carport enclosed, anything you may need we could probably tackle. Sounds like you have a mechanic you use, but anything you want to attempt yourself I have no trouble pointing you in the right direction.

I'm past Harper's Ferry. I'm just west of Berkeley Springs. Just south of Green Ridge State Forest. That's GR on the other side of the river.

Awesome! I do have a decent mechanic, but I'm determined to learn as much as I can. I want to be able to do more than change a tire. :)

Thought you were in Virginny?? Have fun?

Just rain here, for now maybe?

    Always a great view!

    :lalala:

Great looking truck! It looks like a one owner, with minimal issues on that one wheel well only, the rest of the body looks straight (no dents). If the engine and tranny, and frame are in as good shape you're going to have that a while

If you're interested in any mods or repairs yourself definitely reach out to your new family here. For instance, a quick and relatively inexpensive mod would be to replace your wheels and tires with some someone else is taking off a 3rd gen to buy custom stuff. I sold my Sport setup for $600 with minimal mileage and the TPMS. I've seen sets without TPMS go for less than that. But seriously, just ask and someone will offer to help out somehow. No matter what you do it's a 1st gen and that's cool enough to just stay stock too

Awww, thanks, none of these guys will wave at me. You can drink anything you want.

Puppies are so much fun, especially if you have the time. We cheated of course. We're not going to get a third but the thought has been entertained.

    Those damn Steelers!

    Such a gentleman :fistbump:

evening, i'm in the College Park area. Do you maryland guys have any recomendations for localish slider manufacturers? i had a 05 taco a few years ago, sold it like an idiot, and just got a 13, was going to go with mobtown, but apparently they didn't make it through my taco hiatus, anyone else around? looking for more of a step for the kids/flat slider than the tucked into the body angled ones but wanting some actual sliders not running boards/steps.

Explore Overland is what I got. They offer a few different angles. Reasonably priced too.

thanksi was hoping to find something a bit closer to pick em up and avoid the ~200 for shipping, but the 20% off new years sale they're doing is appealing!

also, extreme long shot here but what the heck, if anyone on here is a deer hunter and met a Justin that drives (i guess it's now drove) a brown civic at one of the reservoir properties... that's me! hello and i may use your "gate access technique" now that i'm back in a 4wd to cut down the drag distance. (the guy i talked to drove a tacoma, yes i know the chances are pretty dang slim he's on here but :notsure: ).

Welcome to the forum and the best damn thread on here :hattip:

Shame because Mobtown had the perfect slider for you. Whoever you go with make sure you get fill plates if steps are needed. They make a world of difference for children/dogs
