Anyone know the best place to tap the wiring for a 3rd Brake Light? Is there a location in the back of the bed? No way am I pulling the light off to get to it might just wait for a warning ticket and fold it down saying I will solve it then put it back up to the Cop! We have all kinds of jacked up trucks with out mud flaps, and regular trucks with out the rear tires protected 1/2 way that is against the law too? I have my mud flaps. This might be a Law I just test here in Washington State?? Lots of LED 3rd Brake Lights on Ebay.

TRD emblems, tinted windows, OEM running boards, AVS vent shades, RMAS upgrade, LED lights in front and rear, interior LED lighting upgrade, LED lighting in bed, touch control dash mount for LED lighting, auxillary 12v and USB jacks in bed, replace all speakers with Infinity, custom mod with Bose tweeters, TRD Pro illumination mod...
I would suggest tapping int one of the rear tail lights and use this type of plug.

This is the easiest/best way for the wiring.

Then this works great for the light
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/closed-any-softopper-model-gb.635923/page-15#post-22170160

Another option for the LED light
    https://www.vleds.com/shop-products/light-bars/wpb-r.html

    Edit:
I ran my softopper without the 3rd brake light for several years with no issues from the police in western Washington. I finally added it about 2 years ago thanks to the LED R&D from @tonered

I’d think something that runs down to the trailer connector. Could hide it behind the bumper and run it up through the cubby I’d bet. Haven’t done it myself, but you know there’s a brake light signal there.

I don't plan on running a 3rd brake light at the moment. But I may eventually look into it.

    Just noticed this last night.

    upload_2022-1-9_21-53-47.jpg

Compliments of the same shop who cracked my battery causing a catastrophic leak in the engine bay.

What a bunch of absolute hacks. How can shops like this exist, let alone thrive? I don't know shit about cars and have found a few glaring issues on my own.

Now I've gotta pay another shop to double check EVERYTHING because these overcharging jerks couldn't even get the simplest shit right.

    Oh look, another mod....
You don't need black screws. Paint those screws. Unscrew them, push them in a cardboard box (so the top of the screw head is sticking out) and then paint them with a can of matte black spray paint from your local hardware store. I've painted many chrome/machined screws to look black. The trick is: Give them 2 or 3 light coats. Let them dry for 30 - 45 mins each coat in a dry setting (and above 60 degrees).

    Easy Peasy.

The carven will be super loud and raspy. Carven and MBRP are two of the loudest if that's what you want. Neither are for me though. I still like the TRD pro catback. It's deeper than stock, but still very quiet.

Same, I'm looking at the Switchpro and the new Auxbeam AR-800. The Auxbeam offers a lot of the switchpro stuff at half the price.

I had the carven on my full size granted it was a v8 but it didn’t sound overly loud like a flow master/cherry bomb.

    Landcruiser NW in Portland.

    Work done was:
    • OME BP51 kit full install
    • ECGS needle bearing replacement
    • Differential drop
    • Cab mount chop
    Original quote was $1,400.

Showed up to get the truck and with no warning, the price was now $2,100 (and oh, the cab mount chop was skipped...)

Very unhappy with their work and would even consider taking them to small claims for all the damage done if I thought it'd be worth the hassle (it wouldn't be.)
