I had it as well, before I re-routed my A/C lines. Held up for all the way until no longer necessary.

Mine came in the mail today and it definitely feels quality.

On a different note, i was looking back at your pics of Mike’s setup, and it looks like yall have that line running from the top of the valve cover back to the intake like it was on the URD SC. Would this get routed to a catch can if he had one installed?

Hey y’all, this is a little off topic from the current discussion. Is it possible to do head work(ported, performance valve train kit, cams) without going turbo? I’m trying to preserve NA status as to keep some of the reliability

I dont see why not. You should reach out to LCEngineering and see what they can do for you. I have been thinking about having them port/rework my old cyl head

Ok, thank y’all. @BananaMan had mentioned in a different thread that I would need an external ecu to actual tune the motor and see the benefits of the upgraded valve train? Recommendations? And how would I do that without knowing how to tune?

That EFR has an integrated blow off valve right? Just wondering why you are running both the integrated BOV and HKS?

The HKS is currently only being used as a block off. It has no vacuum sources run to it, since that photo.

From the owner of the turbo build:

"It is in full boost at 2k. Tried it on the freeway this morning. I mean 7 psi in 4th gear. 5th gear in useful again as well. It can be used for the passing lane again."

Add boost and or regear. Mine will light up the tires in second

edit: mines a 5 speed, i missed that yours was an auto at first glance. That definitely isnt helping your situation

That'd be a solid upgrade. Try to find a 3rd member/carrier in a junk yard out of an 05-15 6lug prerunner/4wd that has the 2.7L 4 banger. They all came with 4.10 gears.

Yes, 4.10 diff swaps are a popular upgrade for the Xrunner 5 lug trucks

Most likely on the low side depends on rubber size and how much high speed driving. I like this website it’s not perfect but you get a really good idea. I found that the 2nd Gen 2TR Tacoma is over geared about a 150 RPM’s @65 mph.
I had a 3.31 in a manual 2TR and went from a 26.9” stock tire to a 28.9” tire. Per the link, to go back to a stock gear ratio I should have installed a 3.58. I first tried a 4.10 with the 28.9” tire but the motor was really turning on the freeway at speed. So I swapped another member for a 3.73 and went with a new 28.5” tire, my opinion this is perfect. Sorry I forgot the link!

    https://www.differentials.com/technical-help-2/differential-gear-ratio-calculator/

Yep plug & play. You should have 3.58 gear now if you have an auto?

First Gen Tundra, Sequoia, T-100 and some first Gen Tacoma’s came with the 8.4 (actually 8.25”).
Try also looking for a 3.90 from Toyota. You might have to change the front flange on the carrier/3rd. member. 4.10 from 2.7L from a six lug might be a little low but then again you do have an auto so. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I wonder if anyone makes any performance parts for the trans!

Now I need to get out to the garage and put the stock muffler back on. I purchased a Magnaflow Overland cat-back for the truck but the 2.7L with the supercharger, header and a single cat this exhaust makes women & children run at anything over 3500 rpm plus but it doesn’t drone one bit!
It’s Magnaflow No Drone system and the tip dumps right pass the rear spring hanger. I even extended it to the rear bumper with a turn down. But it still screams and I’m to old for this $h!t! Anyone interested in an exhaust system with lass then 200 miles? :frusty:

    I swear I purchased a boat not a Tacoma❗️:anonymous:
