It has to be from the passenger side needles. It’s funny too is at one point my 4x4 got stuck. I was able to pull over and rock the truck forward and backward and it finally disengaged.

I wonder if the ECGS bushing would work on that side or not? This is the first time I’ve seen a passenger side fail. Has to be what it is though.

Does no one pay attention the PS doesn't have a needle bearing. I even linked a thread that shows the pictures

I’m pretty confident it does, the stub for the ADD rides on it.

And FWIW, it looks like the bushing would work as the numbers are the same.

Exactly. It’s not on the literal passenger side of the add tube.

In that picture you’re just seeing the side gear splines. That’s an ARB and they run a bushing on both sides. But if you have a stock carrier you 100% have a needle bearing on that side as well. Toss a bushing in and call it a day.

My mistake. Thought that was the needle bearing but yeah they should have one on both sides. It had to come from that side as my driver side bearing was long gone. We’ll see what the damage is tomorrow.

Well I'll be damn ok I stand corrected.
If they fucked that needle bearing up that's pretty nuts. Time to upgrade to an ARB and not have to worry about them anymore.

Looks like #20, Qty 2 which seems to mean the passenger side needle bearing gets replaced as well. Arb ftw

The harrop uses a different style bearing too, but looks like its still a kind of needle, just beefier.

I did just read the Harrop install requires grinding out parts of the housing, does the ARB require anything more than drilling a hole for the air line?

In case anybody was wondering. I put it in 4 like Harry said and it no longer does the weird shifting thing. So it has to be an electronic thing. Hopefully it will be enjoyable to drive again after gears.

Been wanting to do a 9 inch rear end on my truck. But being 2WD I lose my speedo and speed info for the tranny when you lose the right rear speed sensor, though the tranny would just go to a default mapping. One of the issues with no speedo is that the odometer does not work either and that will get you a P0500 code and it is an instant fail on smog checks in california. But anyways that was a show stopper for me.
Trying to find a axle builder that could do a semi float with toyota ends has been hard because they have not been able to source custom axles. Currie discontinued their tacoma F9 axle because of this. So I decided to try to trick fuck the toyota speed sensors to get speed info without the use of the rear speed sensors and today I was successful. Granted what I did completly disables the ABS system and turns your dash into a xmas tree of ABS lights but getting rid of the ABS is a blessing anyways. I'm pretty sure everyone of us disables it offroad. I sent what I found to Harry at JDFab and hopefully hes gonna build me a full float 9 inch that will be a width that will match my 4 over front better without using spacers and putting disc brakes on the rear also. Ought to be a fun project. This literally fixes the only issue that concerns me on my truck. Ive blown 3 diffs and a set of spider gears and have been driving more conservative in the whoops because of how they beat up a ring and pinion....I want that to stop as soon as possible and the 9 inch should take care of it.

I didn't notice any real shifting differences when I lost my speed sensors and lost the speedo. Newer trucks maybe? Definitely want to know what you did. ECGS will make a semifloat 60 for ya in some custom widths not my favorite idea. I like the FF 9 better for sure.

Could you steal the front tone signal? Reroute it back as your rear?
