Dashmat leaves it exposed. Maybe get a dashmat and place something underneath to cover the sensor?

Yes. @Jerry311SD should check out the sliders from either Warfab Armor or Running4Tacos with no kick outs. They are pretty unobtrusive.

Quick question about Apple CarPlay. Hardwired via Lightning cable is the only option, right? What happens when Apple phases out the charging port in the next couple of years?

Eh... I plan to get real sliders anyhow. I don't have a whole lot of confidence in the structural integrity of even the main tube body on these for use as sliders.

I can't imagine these are worth a whole helluva lot now... Given the condition they're in, I'd honestly planned to throw 'em up on here for free once I get some real sliders.

some aftermarket head units offer wireless car play. Only option for my stock jbl is hardwire to the back of the unit. I unplugged mine and plugged in a wireless CarPlay adapter so I don’t have to plug mine in it just connects automatically.

I had an 86 Audi 4kQ. The high beam indicator on the dash was so bright, i took the instrument cluster apart and put tape over it with a tiny little hole in the center.

Try RRW. Full span and tucked close. (Mine are the original production with the metal tube caps.)

Eh, right now all mods are paused until I found out where I'm moving next in about 10 days. If I end up going to Hawaii I'm probably going to be selling the truck this summer. And

I'm sure I'll enjoy it, but I'm more of a fun in the snowy mountains kind of guy (my wife too). Not really about that beach life. There is hiking and sky diving though, which I thoroughly enjoy. We might be going to North Carolina instead, in which case I'll resume modding the hell out of the truck
