Nothing worse than touching something in the undercarriage and having clumps of grease dirt fall on your face.

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
Picked up the bed for the 95. Try to get it on the truck soon. But first is clean up for it and touch up the cab (for now) where the corners hit the bed

This is an excellent opportunity to replace your fuel pump as well, as it is so accessible while the bed is off.

I may replace it. We’ll see. Truck runs great for 481k miles… need to inspect the throttle body though, she idles high

I've used this too, I have it on an offroad trailer. Over-all I think its a pretty decent product for what it is. I sprayed it and got a pretty nice texture. Its been a few years now and it never turned chalky or dull, and it still looks good, mostly. Being on an offroad trailer presents some unique challenges, and I have found that it does rock chip pretty good on the leading edges of my fenders, and heavy use areas have worn thru. And as is the case with any paint product; prep is everything.

Nah you just need a second bed below it so the water can flow from one down to the other via a waterfall

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
So, we threw a code on our Death Valley trip = P0420

Odd, that this is the second time this has happened on a trip with a group. Seems like both times this has happened it has been after we were in a lot of dust, and then gone above 4 or 5 thousand feet in elevation. Once we come back down out of elevation the CEL goes away again.

I thought it might be a clogged air filter or something. But I knocked the dust out of the air filter every night at camp. The CEL didn't go away until we came back down (elevation) and stayed back down.

    Anyone else ever seen this?

Bad cat(s). That code will pop up under seemingly random circumstances for awhile and over time it will pop up more often until it eventually decides to stick around. Your cats are going to need replacement sooner or later. Since you're in CA you'll probably need to get them before your next smog. Unless the catalyst monitors stay satisfied long enough to pass.

Other less likely option is you've got a leak in your exhaust somewhere in front of the o2 sensors

edit - I went through this exact same thing 5ish years ago, P0420 would come and go under odd circumstances. Climbing steep highway grades at elevation, off-roading in 4lo, etc. Eventually stuck around. New Magnaflow cats got rid of it for good. Gonna be expensive these days though.

The exhaust system was just looked at a few months ago. I had a Magnaflow put on and had the guy (trusted mechanic) give the rest of the system a look over. It was the same guy we had replace my son's cat converter (OEM was stolen when previous owner had it and they had the wrong Cat installed = wouldn't pass smog). He said with the way these Cats are, it's actually pretty rare they go bad. I guess a lot of the time people replace them often when it's actually something else. (sensor etc)

Not saying it's not the Cats... but those wont get replaced until the CEL goes on and stays on lol

Fortunately I don't have to have the sniffer in the tail pipe. As long as I pass visual, and don't have a CEL, I should still be good for smog... and I just passed smog, so I'm good for a couple years.

Yeah I wouldn't worry about it too much right now esp since you have a couple more years till next smog. See what happens and if any other symptoms pop up that might help narrow it in even more. Its a bitch of a code, that and P0171 are my nemesis
