    Here's my build thread https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-beginning-4runner-sas.268555/

Short story, 22re auto, 5.29s. Spartan locker in the front, ARB rear, solid axle swapped and a bunch of other stuff. Currently apart for a 3.4 r150 swap with a 4.7 23 spline case.

Wonder how accurate that is… suggests sales in 2021 were the highest ever… what chip shortage?

when is soon? I read elsewhere in this thread that the 2022s went into production in November 2021.

seeing that, I reached out to my dealer and asked if there’s risk that I will be allocated A 2023 model instead of a 2022 due to everything that’s going on. Reply was that he thought it would be a 2022, and that the 2023 models will not come out anytime soon. Before putting my deposit the week before, I was quoted 6 to 7 months before my truck would hit the lot.

I was wondering the same thing, projected growth Looks like it would have been between 22 and 24k/mo which was obviously handicapped by chips but then you add in a bunch of Covid stimulus and you create a situation that feels like unprecedented demand because every month your short feels like swimming in quicksand

My ‘22 TRD Sport is finally here after a 3 month wait!

    12/2/21 - Dealership received allocation
    1/14/22 - Build date
1/19/22 - Could no longer lookup temp VIN
    3/5/22 - Delivered

I don’t know why it was such a long time between build date and delivery date. Maybe it was waiting on parts or they were backed up on deliveries.

I have a temp VIN. Build date of 3/19. How can I track it? Do I need to create an owner’s account on Toyota’s website?

Some Temp VINs work here (mine never did):

    guest.dealer.toyota.com/v-spec/YOURTEMPVINHERE/detail

Search this thread for more info on how to extract "ETA" data from the developer tools in your browser for this page.

you can also add your temp vin to the Toyota phone app and owner website and once it stops working there, that should mean it's been built.

Regarding allocation->Build time, looks like most builds here were done roughly 16-24 days after allocation week. As for my truck, I'm not 100% sure mine has been built - it's a week 7 build, based on the last 6 digits of my Temp VIN. I received my allocation on 2/18.

Took the Corolla in this morning for a recall and found this sitting on the lot.

Just put out my second deposit for a AG TRD OR 6MT. First dealer said 6 months +, second dealer said 45-60 days... Quite a difference in time quotes. Hoping an allocation comes sooner than later. Scared to death of missing the AG train and being pushed to a new generation truck which I certainly do not want and will pull deposits.

There has been no confirmation of the 4th Gen coming later this year. Most likely not. Usually Toyota would show it off at the NY Auto show in April.
I’m going to guess that the 4th Gen will show up in mid 2022 and be a 2023 model. That just speculation on my part though.
If you don’t have your truck by say September then yes it could end up being a 2024.
