yes. And you’ll know if you got them backwards, it’ll be very obvious once you shift into 4lo and your 4x4 light comes on, simply reverse the plug locations.

 

I think you may be getting some things mixed up because the ADD housing is on the front diff and it sounds like your work is done there. The hi/lo 2wd/4wd sensors are all on the t case.

 

I think we are on the same page... to my understanding, there is a Front ADD (all done with it now) and there is a ADD (maybe that is not the correct term?) on the back of the Tacoma case.... that I was questioning above in my post last night.

I think you’re just referring to the t case actuator. It’s the electronic doodad that actually switches the case between 2/4/hi/lo. For that I went about 6” up into the wiring harness and cut the connector off.

 

I’m wondering why you cut the connector. Since you reuse the oem switches the harness will fit the connectors you swap onto the FJ case.

 

I’m talking about the 6 pin actuator connector, not the position sensors. He had previously asked about what to do with that.

edit: or maybe he didn’t and now I get to confuse him even more lol

 

gotcha. Yeah I just put mine in a zip lock bag and zip tied it up on top in case I ever decide to go back to an electronic tcase

 

Na fellas.... I think I get it at this point, I will put back in the FJ neutral sensor and let it live unplugged (i'll secure it so its not dangling).
I will try placing the forward Taco sensor [Red color in my pic] (from my Tacoma's "electronic doodad that actually switches the case between 2/4/hi/lo." which I called an Actuator...) into the #3 position on the FJ case...
And the back Taco sensor [Green color in my pic] into the #2 position on the FJ case...

Unless I have this backwards?
And i'll just leave the now unused pigtail that did plug into the doodad, unplugged and secured up somehow. [Purple color in my pic]

If that is all good above; I think my LAST question will be: do I need to "massage" with a big fucking hammer, the area in my truck where these 2 new sensors will now be fitting/living? [Yellow hi-light color in my pic] How much?

 

I don’t recall which sensor is which but I do know that no massaging is needed at all.

 

I love what you are doing, ha e you ever thought of installing a Atlas transfer case?

 

that looks good. Shouldn’t be any need to massage for a stock placement. It will be tight up between the body and transfer case to get to those plugs once everything is in place though.

 

I have so many dreams floating in my head... but a new Clutch is coming next sooner than later (i'm at 251k miles and counting...) and IF a 1 or 2UZ V-8 swap ever happens.... I suspect a better suited Transmission (possibly auto) and Tcase than what I am doing now will be warranted....
But that is WAY down the road, if ever.....

Fuck yeah, looks awesome. I ended up remaking my t case shifter because I was worried about it rattling against the trim in 4lo. Curious to see how yours does.

 

I think I’m going a different approach doing the manual swap but I’m swapping out the diff extension tube for the non ADD tube on the awd versions, I despise any and all kind of wiring so I’m trying to go about this with doing as little wiring as possible even if it means spending a little more I mainly want to be able to use atrac and my rear locker still with out having to straight wire the locker and go without atrac

 

good choice, save yourself the headache of the front actuator failing. I have a thread on here for how to do that swap somewhere, I'll have to dig it up.

 

I hope I won’t need anything else but I have the tube axle seal snap rings and the intermediate shaft and new bolts
