That could be a long list or a junkie randomly hitting cars for spare change. In all honesty, that door has been wrecked since day 3. Pipeline crew hit and run when I was heading back to my rig. I had 87 miles when it happened. Didn't call allstate then, damn sure ain't calling now. I'm gonna mad max the doors I think. Hell, why not?

 

Yeah... and the decals I just put on are just the most fitting description. I literally just had a dude in a stock Sr5 taco ask me if my truck was a built up 80s with a 3rd gen clip. Smh.

 

New windshield installed through insurance. The retail bill is over $800

 

Bumper's on! I'd like the bar to be rounded instead of so angular, but this bumper will be enough for the stuff I use my truck for.
Next, some Rigid lights, and the sliders.

Installed a couple of the Dodge Sprinter D-rings P/N 5170492AA on the bed cubby bolts:



Put my new emblem on the tailgate with 3M 03614C molding tape:



My replacement LCAs didn't come with the anti-whistle hole plugs, so I had to order them separately, P/N 90950-01990. These have the number "8" molded on the head, same as two plugs in the frame rust spray kit. Each LCA takes 3 plugs, for 6 total. Decided to go OEM despite their cost, because the plugs are in a harsh environment, getting dragged over rocks.

haha, I mean after all the electronics you've ripped out of it you're not far from it. Hopefully they just replace and re-spray a new door instead of leaving that chewed up metal under a replacement handle.

 

RCV axle shafts P/N CVJIFS-TOY2 came in 5 months after ordering. RCV axles don't include the outer dust seals and axle nuts that normally come with aftermarket CV axles. Outer dust seals are Toyota P/N 90304-A0001. Re-use your axle nuts or get Toyota P/N 90178-28002.



While the LH axle is out, replaced the front diff needle bearing with ECGS bushing P/N T8CS-BUSHING and a new seal Toyota P/N 90311-47027:



Everything installed. The high-angle CV boots avoid the need for the boot slide mod:

 

Drained the front diff and refilled with Castrol synthetic 75W-90. Installed Lexus drain plug with 14mm external hex P/N 90341-24016:

 

So in other words you have to tilt the kilt to hose off the junk? Seems like a hassle. I'm running a K&N drop in, but thinking about going back the to an OEM paper filter.

 

My third brake light arrived from @tacomalifestyle today. Just need to find some time to swap the original. Not sure if it's worth having the recall done for the trim gasket or if this light will suffice as waterproof? Excited to check out the flash feature nonetheless.

 

OEM tailgate lock is a pretty straight forward easy install. The only difficult part was installing the metal zip ties near the muffler.

 

Finally got my roof rack put back on!

Why does it say extra long for a short bed?

 

Made my first cuts….nothing big, but was tired of the tire rubbing when I turned and went over a dip.
