You don't have to cut the frame on any 2WD truck for 6" lift. Just skip that step. It's for the front driveshaft.

So say I were to get that along with blocks in the rear, would I need to swap out anything else in the rear portion?

If you don’t mind me asking, about how much was the install(assuming you did it professionally)?

Me and a friend did the install. It took about 10 hours in his driveway. Mine is 4x4 so I had to cut the cross member. I also did a quick hack alignment enough to get it to the alignment shop. I also put new upper control arms to get a correct alignment.

I will probably do something like that. The maxtrac 4” spindle lift seems to be a common one. As far as the shock absorber goes, someone said to get an adjustable 2” coilover. Is this ideal because I know people say coilovers mess with ride quality? Or should I do something else?

I will tell you this, the RC lift gives you more height in the front after the install. I'll put it this way after I added the winch and winch mount(if I had to guess130lbs.)it made the truck sit exactly level.

Op. Would highly recommend to do research first. Find out what is included. Why a spindle is bad.
