Thanks for that! What made you go that route instead of others? I know cost is always a factor. But for the ride are you happy with it?

I don't go off road enough to justify Kings or ADS etc, the 6112s are more than capable, do well off road and drive very well on road. For me they are the best of both worlds without breaking the bank

Gotcha, that's where I am with it. When I originally did the lift, the kit was used for a bit. Figured now, in spite of the availability, I should at least update the suspension due to mileage and all.

    Hello all,
I've been reading all these posts for the last 7 months trying to make sure I made the right decision on lifting my 2013 Tacoma Prerunner. So, I finally pulled the trigger and purchased a Maxtrac 4" spindle lift among some other goodies. This is what I bought: Maxtrac 4" spindle lift, extended brake lines on all 4 corners, OME nitro charger sport shocks, OME Dakar leaf pack with bushings, Ubolts, and CB drop kit - all from HeadStrong Off-road. I had this all installed from a lift shop in Ocala Florida for $650, which I thought was an excellent price.

My tires are Falken Wildpeak AT3 285/70/17 and the wheels are 17x9 KMC KM544 Mesa 4.53 BS and -12 offset. I do have some rubbing on the inside finder, but I did some light trimming and it helped, it still rubs when I make a hard right. I do not have wheel spacers for the rear. The front tires stick out a little bit more than the rear, but it's not enough for me to install spacers on.

I wanted to have a different look than other Tacoma's I see out here, so I bought a VooDoo bed rack. I plan on buying an RTT to go on top of it in the spring. I also bought some aftermarket taillights from Tacoma Beast and a TRD replica grille from the Truck Accessories guy.

The problem I am having is when I drive, it's pretty rough. Maybe I should have bought KO2's, but it's too late now. Where I had the lift installed said if I have some aftermarket UCA's and front shocks installed it will drastically improve the ride. Is this true? If so which type of UCA's and shocks would you recommend? My funds are running low, but I don't want to skimp on the UCA's if I can help it. I was looking at JBA, OME, and Freedom Offroad UCA's. Freedom Offroad's reviews were somewhat indecisive, but the price is nice. I emailed JBA and they recommended the UCA's that keep the stock geometry the same, they cost $719. As far as the front shocks, I was thinking about either OME 90021 for a softer ride or Blistein 5100's. I would like to keep the front coils if I can.

I sure would appreciate any help you guys can give. I love this forum, it has helped me so much already, I feel like I'm driving myself crazy looking for some UCA's. It was my understanding when I bought the Maxtrac spindles that my ride would be what I had when my truck was stock, which was great.

*In a few of my pictures truck isn't straight, it kind of looks like my front tires are off. Also, I have some surface rust on top of my spindles I need to get rid of.20211116_092341.jpg 20211116_092341.jpg 20211116_092352 (1).jpg 20211116_113220.jpg 20211116_113247.jpg 20211116_113247.jpg 20211116_113234.jpg 20211116_113328.jpg 20211116_113309.jpg

Truck looks good man. I would skip the upper control arms unless you put a taller coil than stock on when you lifted it. Doesn't appear to be higher than 4" up front but pics can deceive.

Those nitrochargers can be a little pogo stick like I've heard. Save some pennies and get ADS with remote resi and clickers and never look back.

Damn, that's a sweet truck! I originally wanted the stealth custom wheels, but they were out of stock on the ones I wanted. I've read a lot of your and Airdog's posts to help me decide what to get. I forgot to mention that my steering wheel shakes between 45 and 60 mph, it didn't at first but got progressively worse over time. I'm taking it that's an alignment issue? Those ADS remotes are nice, just a little out of my price range. I should have gone with something like that set up my first time around. I was trying my best to avoid making a mistake on my lift, such as installing a rough country lift (which I am glad I didn't). Looks like I will be spending more money to fix it, but I knew that could be an issue with a new lift.

Man your truck looks fine!! I've gone through 4 different setups on my truck.

These trucks just shake. Mine has a the same thing you're describing ever since the first lift.

Could see about a small drive shaft spacer (I was going to but never did)

People spend years tracking down things that probably just gonna be the way they are on these trucks forever.

Ok, awesome! Thank You for putting my mind at ease. I'll probably just do some more research into those ADS racing shocks. I'm sure they will give me the ride I'm looking for.

Absolutely. Your truck looks well taken care of! How long have you had it?

Also, what pressur do you have your tires set to? I usually keep my fronts at 36 and rears at 34.

Thank You! Yes, I try to take care of it. I've had it for a few years now, I like the 2nd gen Tacomas much better than the 3rd gen. Their front end bothers me for some reason. I only have 50k on it. The person who had it before me just didn't drive it as much, which is good for me.
When they installed my tires, they had my tires at 41 psi. I thought that seemed like it was too much, so I took it down to 35 psi. Our weather here fluctuates from hot to chilly and that seems to mess with the tire pressure. Where did you buy your ADS shocks from? I'm having a hard time finding them. There are only a few websites that seem to carry them. Your armor in the front is pretty badass too! I was looking at a few offroad bumpers, but they are pretty heavy and I would need to add some heavy-duty coilovers for that extra weight. There are so many options for these Tacomas. So far I've spent about 7k on everything. From the looks of your Tacoma, I'm sure you have a lot more than that in it.

The ride should stay the same since you didn't change out the front shocks or coils. What load rating are the tires? If Load E that's probably why it rides a little harsher.

My tires a C rated and 6 ply. I can't even tell what types of front shocks I have up front . I emailed HeadStrong to see if they can help out.

Those ADS are sweet, but for now what i purchased was a front pair of Bilstein 5100's. My question is- since my rear OME springs have me lifted me an extra 1 inch in the rear, should i set the fronts at the second clip to level it out? I put some weight in the rear to see if it will settle, it just hasn't yet. Thank you for your help.
