    Very Nice!

And yes, the guys at Talon are great with this product.

The CAT plate is just as thick as the TRD Skid on my Sport. I don't have the cutout on the winglet but I was able to position both in a way that sidesteps the plastic doo-hickie I did not want to break off.

Glad you are happy with it...and yes, put that driver lock somewhere you can find it.

Also got a cat protector from Talon's Garage. Sprayed it with some Woolwax black undercoating before install. I really like how it came out. Thinking about getting their skid plate they just came out with, but I wanna see more pictures of it first.

I need to get more photos up on the website. Here is a good one from another lady that just installed it.

I used some cardboard and scissors to make templates for the initial sizes. Cheap 18G steel sheet metal cut on a plasma table with stainless steel nuts and a brace welded to the back of each. Spray painted, rust proofed and bolted to my aluminum trans skid.... ($142 for the original aluminum skid from eBay and ~$30 in parts for the cheap cat covers)

Nothing is 100% theft proof but hopefully it’s enough to make even a dumb thief look under my truck and decide to move-on......

I really like the design of the front skid. Let me know if you want more pics other than the ones in my quote below (few pics under the spoiler button in the quote, didn't want the post to be super long).

Thanks for the pics. I noticed on the website, the bottom part of the front skid seemed to be two separate parts, but on yours it's a solid piece with a door. There also appears to be another "door" other than the oil filter one. Am I safe in assuming that is to where the front jack point is on the vehicle?

It is two separate pieces that are held together by a bracket added to where the end of the stock skid attaches. I am not 100% sure what the second "door" is for (added a close up for you though).

No longer sure any of this add-on stuff will really help. They used to attack the cat converter with a sawsall and be in and out in minutes. Apparently now the latest trend is simply hook something (strap, chain, hook) to the exhaust, back up quickly and just rip the entire exhaust system off the auto. Toss it all in the bed and gone in a flash.

Well, that is awful and desperate. Did you have a link with stories/testimonies about this new method?

Just installed my millercat shield. The 300 bucks outweighs the 1000s youll pay for replacement. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to protect their cats. Cat theft is getting out of hand. Good piece of mind. Even with catshield im sure if they want it bad enough theyll find a way to geg it but my thoughts ate they'll move on when they see the shield.

    • The "front" door is I believe for the oil filter
    • The "rear" door is for access to the oil drain plug.

I thought the shield for the cat protector was supposed to "mate/connect" underneath the skid plate. That way if you are on a rock of something and "skidding" along. the obstacle has something to slid onto.

With that lip showing and the cat protector below the skid, couldn't you get hung up on an obstacle?

    You're replying to @tacobelletx

    I was like...WTF? lol

That second slot/rear opening is a circlular cutout on my skid.

With the trd skid, the cat shield goes under. I think with the Talon skid it is supposed to mate up to it evenly, but I had already added both spacers when I installed the cat shield first. I've been too lazy to undo it to take out one spacer since adding the front skid though (I will eventually).

I bought the TRD Skid before the Talon skid plate was complete.

Hope you can fix your skid soon, so it is flush.

Here is the view of what you described and the circular area I mentioned:

A lot of law enforcement agencies are starting to check scrap yards for cats that are spray painted and engraved. If they find them they are confiscated. this discourages yards from taking cats that are paited etc. So I'm for sure gonna paint mine and still consider further measures
