Switch Pros 9100 install and BS thread

I'll have to try an iphone. I've done most of what I could find online so I'm hoping it's just an OS thing at this point. Thankfully none of my settings have gone stray so I'm ok living like this for now.

I had that issue not too long ago. I had to pull the positive lead that runs from the battery to the switch-pros to completely reboot it. I let it sit for like 30 seconds and then hooked it back up. That fixed the bluetooth issues for me.

 

I'll try that. But it is throwing the red light/fault code on the controller. Not just disconnecting.

Looks good. Debating on adding one as well. Trying to do my research on it and make sure I get everything that is needed

 

If anyone needs the main switch pro harness, the one that goes from the controller to the display. I have one, de-pinned. I was going to shorten it up so I wouldn't have so much excess but got lazy and I'll never do it now.

 

If you want a short (or longer) one, you can contact switch pros with the measurements and they’ll ship it to you.

If you’ve got a harness that’s the wrong length, stripped pins, etc they’ll credit you like $30 when you send it back to them. They’ll refurb it.

did this when the pins got stripped on one of my cables. They shipped me a new one depinned and I sent back the old one.

Just some notes I hadn’t seen elsewhere in case they can help others.

Finally wired a Dometic hardwire kit to rear. It’s actually screwed into the factory metal bar for tonneau covers, not the after market rail mount, inside my RSI smart cap (hard to tell in pic). It’s fed by circuit 8 on my Switch-Pros. I did this way so I have an auto hard off when truck is shut off aka I can’t forget to stop charging the battery when the truck isn’t running. Battery is the dometic plb 40.

Anecdotal testing had me going from 74% to 100% SOC on the battery in about 25 min of driving (with nothing drawing from the battery). I am pretty happy with that result.

Note: The hardwire kit comes with 20ft of wire and I was sure that was more than enough but it took literally every inch to make it from switch pros to the back of the taco.

On deck: I will test my Vair compressor next. My hope is it will work as good from that secondary plug on the hardwire kit so I don’t have to fiddle under the hood anymore. In theory it should work fine but TBD. Just a small bonus from the hardwire set up. Not a sexy air up system but good enough for me.

Has anyone put this on their switch-pro? How does it attach? Did anyone use it with MESOs mount? Thanks for the help I tried to search and I see pictures but it’s not clear.

 

Has anybody recently purchased a @MESO
customs panel, just wondering if you had to fabricate it to get the switch pro to fit properly. Mine doesn’t seem to be sitting level and it doesn’t fit in the cubby very well. I bought the kit that said it would fit the 2021 Tacoma. I’m just wondering if it’s a super snug fit or if I should do a little trimming.

 

I got one, I also have the meso mount and it doesn’t seem to fit flat. I think I can fix that by adding something like a flat washer behind the faceplate to bring it out a tiny bit.

I had to do some fitting on mine with a small rat tail file and some sandpaper. Mine is the one he made for 2021's that were marked for and sold by Cali Raised. Just took my time and kept test fitting it until it was in there snug.

 

Good to know! Thanks! Did you have issues with the small switch on the upper right? Mine is on top of the mounting bracket of the insert not allowing even the blank to sit in the spot?

yeah, you need to trim out that corner of the opening in the dash. its not used for mounting the insert so cutting it wont hurt anything and you cant see it once it's installed. I think there was a picture in this thread, but I'm not 100% on that. I used a oscillating multi-tool, but a dremel should work as well.
Also, you may have to trim down the guide tabs on some of the stock switches. that way you can put them in whatever spots you want. I moved my auto brights switch up next to the switch-pros since its lighting, and i used the space that used to be in for my RedArc brake controller knob

*edit* found the post about trimming...im pretty sure those holes are for mounting the old cubby that doesn't come on the 2020+ tacomas, so removing them should not impact your truck in any way.
