What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

You did an actual helicoil or one of these? Honestly Id be happy with a few months out of it, gives me time to prepare for replacing the head lol

 

One of those things, a shop did it for me

 

I put a time-sert in one of my spark plug holes about 10 years ago, other than pulling out with the spark plug half the time when I change them, it’s been just fine. I just re-Loctite it and thread it back in when that happens.

Installed 3rd gen runner seats in it.





Also put a old school 4wd shift knob on.

 

How do you like that tuffy center console? I've been looking at those.
Got any more pics of how it mounts and the space between it and the OEM plastic shifter surround?

 

You just smack the rail mounts in?

 

I have a similar question about how the 4Runner seat rails fit, have to mod., or some other type of rails? Looks good.

 

I like it alot. I'll get a pic of the clearance, it has plenty. At the moment, it's not actually mounted, I've missed placed the brackets that came with it. I'm gonna fab up a bracket, that will use the original mounting bolts.

 

Yes, make the left front on driver side and right front passenger side, make it 90 degrees.

 

I also got a pair of these. Either these adapters, or drill a hole through the floor board and put a nut and bolt in.

Picked up an A.R.E. tonneau in great condition. Rails, clamps, key, all there! Yeah it's white not exactly a color match but it'll do

 

Love that it looks like its pretty flat, then once it starts moving you see the depth and contours change!

Who's running a 1 inch body lift? And how do you like it.

I'm on the fence. I have the kit (Have had it for 4 or 5 months) but I just not sure if I want to do it or not.

I'm looking to move up to 35s. 1 inch body lift would certainly make the clearancing neccessary at lot less messy. It would give me a bit more room if I decide I want to move my rear shocks further up (without cutting in to the bed). I'm ok with the additional 1 inch gap between bumpers/sliders/body.

I'm aware of the issues with the BL spacers at the bed mounts and would plan on fabricating my own that be the size of the actual mount instead of the small blocks they provide. (I actually already have that metal too lol)

Someone talk me in to, or out of, installing this thing
