    Cleaned it down thoroughly, automotive primed it, rubberized undercoating, then black rattle can paint. Not the priciest job in the world but it came out looking really good.

    ok thanks! im looking at getting an avid light bar soon and i've read a lot of guys powdercoat theirs but i'm looking for a cheaper way to make it look good and yours looks great! BTW did you use a specific brand of prime and paint and does the rubberized undercoat give added protection?

    Yeah the rubberized undercoating adds some added protection. You can use bed liner spray as well. I used rustoleum auto primer and krylon fusion black spray paint.
