So i went to mountain creek tonight with a few friends.. didnt get home from work til 5, didnt get to the mountain till after 7 because of traffic, then we left around 9:30 and i was hauling ass to try to get to fuddruckers before they closed at 10 so we could get some burgers. naturally we had all drank some beer on the slopes.. I think I totaled in at about 4 or 5 cans of bud in the 2 1/2 hours we were there. On the way to fuddruckers I was doing 75 and saw a cop hiding so i slammed on the brakes and got down to about 55, but it was too late. He pulled me over for doing 75 in a 45, then proceded to announce that he could smell alcohol and asked if I had been drinking. I then remembered the empty 18 pack in the bed that he had probably already seen, and told him that I was the designated driver, but that my 3 friends had been drinking. He went back to his car to run my info, then about half an hour later back up arrived and they came back to my window and asked me to step out of the vehicle so they could give me a field sobriety test to see if I had been drinking. Now, being that I have a Commercial Drivers License, my legal drinking limit is .04 even in my personal vehicle, where everyone else is allowed .08. So naturally I was shitty my pants from nervousness, while freezing my nuts off and basically being blown away from the 40 mph hour winds we are experiencing tonight. He had me follow a pen with out moving my eyes, take 9 heel-toe steps foward and then back, then hold my right foot 6 inches off the ground for 30 seconds while counting out 1 one thousand, 2 one thousand and so on.
Ended up deciding I was not drunk, and decided to only give me a ticket for 75 in a 45 and "let me go with a warning about my tinted windows" (although how could he tell? it was dark and my truck is covered in mud from saturday) (and when he asked "have you been offroading?" I told him how much fun wharton state forest was and also pointed out that stokes state forest is also alot of fun and is much closer if he'd interested in offroading)

So now tomorrow when I go to work I have to fill out paperwork and call my boss's boss's boss and tell them I got a speeding ticket and possibly get in a shit ton of trouble, But atleast i didnt get a dui. If i got a dui i would lose my job, wouldnt be able to continue payments on my truck, would owe a shit ton of money to my company for not finishing my contract, and would just be over all fucked.

btw.. I have a personal breathalyzer i keep in my glove box, after the cop left I decided to see what I'd blow, and it came back with exactly .04. my legal limit. as long as his breathalyzer didnt read higher than mine, I might not of gotten a dui, but this was way too close for comfort.

I can say i learned an extremely valuable lesson tonight.

And I know i'm a fucking dumbass so dont bother telling me that.

And I didnt even remotely feel drunk so its not like i was trying to drive "drunk" but yes I know "buzzed driving is drunk driving"

i'm really pissed about all of this and I have no one to blame for it but myself, but i thought sharing this might make me feel a little better about it.

    good night guys

This is why I feel naked without my radar detector, if I have a lapse of judgement, that will give me a warning. I will always own one.

I doubt it is a radar jammer, if so.. those are illegal, and if it is a passive one, those don't even work.

I was big on reading up on radar detectors for a while.

Idk it's been a while since I've read about it, all I remember is the reason I bought it was because they advertised the cops can't get your speed. Even had a 1 year ticket refund guarantee if they managed to catch you speeding.

What radar do you have? After this incident I'm thinking I should update my cop protection

ran into some minor trouble on the drivers side. the plastic clips that hold the brake lines in place need to be moved, so i will jb weld the clips to the frame. that will solve all issues. i will do that tomorrow, to cold today and tomorrow should be like 25030 degrees warmer, so for now, only on passenger side :)

Damn Josh, glad to here you only got away with the speeding ticket. I had a scare like that once and that set me straight from then on. Now I only have one or two and that's my limit (unless I'm at home of course).

Just posted this in the technology section but wondering if anyone in NJ can help out:

I've got three laptops as follows:

Laptop #1: Old IBM from 2000.
Laptop #2: Dell laptop (not sure of age).
Laptop #3: Acer laptop (approx. 2 years old)

Laptop #1&3: Got bluescreen of death, restarted and now get error message saying "No operating system found".
Laptop #2: Was working fine and all of sudden slowed down to a snails pace. Have run Norton 360, Spybot, CrapCleaner, Microsoft Security Essentials and AdAware. Sometimes they find something and it's a little better for about five minutes and other times it says no problems found.

Anyone have any ideas and suggestions. The only thing that these were getting used for is TacomaWorld (me) and Facebook (my wife). Because I use TacomaWorld at work and my office computer is fine I'm thinking it's something to do with Facebook. But nobody else (our friends, relatives, etc) seems to be having these problems. I don't have recovery disks for any of the computers so that's not really an option.

    Any ideas / recommendations?????

    Thanks.
