Does the frame inspection include rustproofing?

I have a 2012 dclb and the frame is in perfect condition. But I heard that Toyota will inspect the frame for free and if the frame is fine they will apply preventative rustproofing. Is this the case? I don't really need the frame inspected since snow is rare here in NC but I wouldn't mind getting free rustproofing.

@Tarheel22 - see this thread if you haven't already:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/frame-coverage-for-2011.590939/

I can say that my 2015 OffRoad came from Texas, then I purchased and it lives in Wisconsin (a cold climate state on Toyota's list). I have zero frame issues but I wanted it inspected so it can possibly be covered if that changes in the future. Dealership said because it originally lived in Texas (which is not a cold weather state) they declined to apply any of the CRC rust inhibitor goop. So there are different factors and only the dealer doing the inspection/application will make that determination.

100% agree with this. I am an unabashed Woolwax fanboy and apply their black-dyed product to my chassis at least once annually. I have zero rust and I am planning to keep it that way. Highly recommend.

Yup woolwax is 100 times better than fluid film, that shit barely comes off when you have a power washer at it at point blank. Fluid film comes off way too easy

Here’s a product that is used by all the airlines and the MROs doing maintenance, and the military uses it too. It’s used on oil rigs in the North Sea and shipyards everywhere so it’s mainly industrial but you can buy it. The real beauty here is that it goes on thin and is clear or light tinted so that you can see the structure underneath. It comes off easily with a solvent and you can make spot repairs and retreats as needed but it lasts longer than a single season. The automotive grade products might work too but if you want real protection give this a shot.
