I really don't like the look of the new LED Headlights from my 2022 TRD OffRoad, and I really want to swap to the old Halogen setup. However, my understanding is that the wiring harness is completely different. Specifically, it is a single connection vs. a connection to each individual bulb in the halogen headlight housing.

Has anyone performed this change, and if so how did you do it? There are plenty of wiring harness kits to upgrade the halogen lights to the LED lights, but I haven't seen anything that goes in the other direction. I would assume it would be relatively easy to do, but maybe I'm the only one who is interested in doing this.

Really appreciate any feedback from the forum on this!

Just about the worst thing you can possibly do to your truck.

The OEM LED headlights massively outperform the terrible halogen projectors and represent the best possible headlight you can have on your truck. There is no reason to replace them with anything other than the same unit if a failure occurs.

Sounds like you're a fan! haha. I understand the sentiment, but I was perfectly fine with my 2017 Halogen Headlights and simply can't stand the look of the new ones.

Have you made conversion harnesses for this specific situation?

He never mentioned anything about caring about performance other than he just doesn't like how they look.

This. I think they're ugly too but the factory halogens are extremely terrible lights for output. You'll be cutting your output by at least 50%.

Having said that, I want to offload my halogens after upgrading... You need a set??

I would think you’ll need the exact opposite connectors/terminals that they use in the halogen to LED kits. Beyond that getting the wires in the right spot should be easy enough.

If you can figure out a way to make this work then I’d love to trade housings with you with money on my end. My 2021 housings are basically brand new.

personally, I don’t find the halogen output bad at all. I just want the look of LEDs.

You must be part owl because the 2017 halogens suck.

I am not sure what you’re looking for but I have a set of 2017 SR5 and Blacked Out DEPO TRD LED (led "L") headlights available if you decide to make the switch, I'd be interested in your set if you're down. I am in Pennsylvania

My response is strongly worded to explain why I do not build the harness asked about.

I purchased my OEM LED headlights and sent to @crashnburn80 for testing and comparison with the stock halogen projectors. His results, using proper testing equipment and protocols tell the story that human eyes are not as capable of telling.

So, the work has been done to confirm IHS reports that the OEM LED headlights are fantastic. There is no good reason to change out these headlights. They require no maintenance. There is no possible upgrade. I've talked several people out of swapping them for alternatives.

The reverse harness involves solving for 5 grounds. I'd probably tie them to vehicle chassis rather than attempting to split the MX-150 ground into 5 separate ones.

I do sell H9 connectors but no H11's, though I swapped to dual H9's on my truck before cutting those off and going with an 090II connector.

The turn, sidemarker and drl connectors can be purchased from corsa-technic, info is available in my OEM LED conversion harness, follow the links and then find the mating connectors. But the cheapest path is to hit up a junkyard and just cut off the connectors, then you have OEM and all crimped. Then just two MX-150 male connectors. Or cut and crimp to the vehicle, colors will match.

This request is similar to the request I once had to make an airbag shutoff switch. I understand why people do these things but I reserve the right to not be involved.

Somewhat off topic here, but does anyone happen to know if they sell the halogen trd pro lights without the LED "L"? I too prefer the look of the halogen lights over the LED look but I really like the ones with the blacked out housings. Only thing I don't like is that the DRL seems to be LED instead of the amber glow that the pure halogen lights have... and I need me my amber glow lol.

Op, do you. Just make sure you get what your lights are worth since they are extremely desirable. They are easily worth 5-6 times a set of halogens before shipping. People struggle to get 200-300 for oem projectors on BST forum.
$1k+halogens AND shipping would be as low as I’d go personally

No, at least not from the factory. It is an LED strip. Typically if a DRL is going to be halogen (other vehicles) it's just going to be a dedicated bulb in a reflector housing or they will run either the high or low beam at reduced voltage.
