You're not wrong that is the left/driver side.

I had one in my last truck. They're actually pretty neat boxes, very handy for smallish items. They come with a removeable tray like most tool boxes and have a keyed lock. The swing out feature is great and you can remove the whole thing just by lifting it up when it's in the way. There's a place for a padlock to prevent it from being removed if security is a concern.
They do have a few negatives so it would be up to you if you think it's worth the $200+ for one. I think the biggest drawback is that is really can't hold anywhere near the manufacturer's rating of 75lbs, They really are a light-duty box only. If you put any real weight inside it will sag over time. Also if you don't have the driver's side cubby you would only be able to install the passenger box because they use the factory holes as mounting points. You still have to drill holes into the bedside for the rear bracket, some people may not want to do that.
Anyway, I didn't regret buying mine and based on what you wrote it would probably work great for you. I know there are some low profile tonneaus that are not compatible with these boxes so definitely look into that first. Also, there are some no-name versions that look to be identical to the Undercover ones. I've seen them on Amazon for a lot less money.

yeah we got it. The whole point of it being drivers side the fact that the lock goes on the passenger side, NOT the drivers side. You must be confused as i pointed out that it IS the drivers side, NOT the passenger side in the picture lol

Brought this home today! Nice new Husky tool chest my dad bought me as an early birthday present.

*The 2nd picture makes it look like the chest isn’t level. It’s fine, my garage floor just has a slight slope. This is a temporary location until I get a (level) detached garage built

    Nice!!

my father in law just bought he one this past Christmas. Not as big as your but it’s awesome. I was always too cheap to buy one for myself but so glad not to be working out of 6 toolboxes anymore.

I’m super excited to have gotten one and look forward to building a nice tool collection. This is the 41x24.5 model. Lots of good all in one storage space that definitely beats a bunch of small tool boxes and stuff laying out on shelves!

    Sweet.
Be careful when installing the gap shield, the glue is super sticky. You’ll only get one chance to place it. Be careful that you don’t push it into the voids underneath. I used the OEM screws and lined it up against them. I was going to switch out to the flush screws that are included with the Snailarmor but figured the raised OEM would keep anything being slid across the tailgate into the bed from catching on the edge of the gap shield.
Once it’s installed keep an eye on it the first time that you close it and make sure that the excess is going down into the gap opening. Once it sits for a couple days it will take a set and do this every time that you close it.

With the help of some nice TW folks, i finally upgraded my Meso stage 1 total tail kit with vled triton v6 lights, all 4 of the red lights. i had already upgraded the Meso stage 1 kit with the stage 2 vleds. Now i took it a step further with the tritons. Noticeably brighter, but not so much i would say the cost is worth it.
