I didn’t fix mine. I’ve just been around this forum long enough that I’ve seen more than 1 person have this problem. Mine doesn’t pickup stations as good as it used too. I just haven’t felt like fixing it.

As for silicone, I wouldn’t bother with it myself.
It probably won’t hurt. So if you want to, you can.

    Here is a DIY

I use mine as an early warning system for low clearance areas like parking garages lol. The antenna is about 6" taller than the roof of the truck, so if the antenna clears you are good to go!

That is funny, because when my antenna hits the limbs on the trees over hanging the drive way.
I know it time to trim them.

My father hates coming to visit if I haven’t trimmed. The limbs drag over top of his truck.
I guess it’s not always bad to have a smaller truck, huh?

That's a shock absorber for your glove box. See if fox or king makes a high performance replacement.

You'll want the triple bypass if you're going to do any serious offroading.

    thanks.
so for anyone wanting to fix the poor radio signal its a pain in the ass job.
youll need the new antenna. new bezel and new castle nut if you cant get them off. then youll maybe need fender flare clips and most likely need fender liner clips.
most of my labor was getting the clips out.

i just did a scan and at least 10 stations came in. definitely more than 10 but lost count.
only stopped at 2 stations before the fix.
    hope it lasts.

I live in the sticks, working antenna or not, 2-3 FM stations is all I get. Been ponying up for Sirius for years but getting close to just using the phone. Congrats on the fix OP
