Good morning. We had a nice relaxing 4-day weekend at Ocean Pines. Had crabs on Friday night that were large and delicious. Drove the Avalon, my wife's car but I drive it every chance I get.

Great job on the rack, who cares what the paint looks like, except what you care, but, aren't you afraid they will bend and contact the roof? I know they are stout looking but......if you find they do sag, the cross bars like they use on a Prinsu can be bought, to length, on Amazon. I was surprised how cheap too. Just sayin'.......if they sag. Would suck to Fk up the roof. Or you could wrap them in pool noodles or pipe insulation. I've seen some slick DIY applications when they used spray on plastidip and that pipe insulation. Makes it look like something made for it.

Otherwise, that's a lot of work for a shadetree job! You should hit me up, I'm always willing to come over, bring the dogs and get in the way. :burp:

    Just ask Tony @Tonymontana

I think if I were to do anything to my suspension besides changing out the coils and the AAL, it would be uppers and lowers. Upper first. I'd like to see how much they are gonna charge for the TRD and see the specs. I'm pretty sure there is a guy on here named #RandyFab aka @EatSleepTacos Randall that beefed up his lowers by welding bracing to them. I will never go nuts on any trail but if I could weld, I'd be into that for the hell of it in case. I'd also be interested in the lower skids that protect the antilock brake connections. I don't hear a lot of instances of them being broke, but I have heard a couple. I hear it can shut the ECU down too.

But yea, great job, I like how sleek the rack is. :spy:

Version 8.0 of the Overland Torque Tune, https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/overland-torque-tune-ott-by-overland-tailor.759590/
It makes the trucks drive sooo much better. Smoother shifting, no gear hunting, a little more torque, immediate throttle response when you press on the gas. Some say better mpg but I occasionally drive like it’s a race truck… worth every penny IMHO

I usually make a point to look out for you, your truck it tough to miss lol.
    I would have waved if o saw you… but since I didn’t,

I have been walking my front and back, and some other areas, with a older Toro 6.5 hp gasser. It has a handle depressed, adjustable speed rear drive, and cuts very nicely. I have been walking it for two reasons, one, it weighs about 1,400 lbs less than my rider that is destroying the new grass I planted on the sloped areas, and two, for the added exercise (walked 6.5 miles on Saturday alone).

But I have been entertaining the idea of a battery operated walk behind. And yes, also a 30" gasser. From what I saw, besides the obvious 'no need for fluids', 'lower noise' and 'zero smell' benefits, the battery version is nearly as heavy as my gas is, and would cost about the same.

I'd like to test one here first though (batt) before committing. If I could do everything I can now with one batt on the charger and one in the mower and could swap until I was done, I would definitely not have a problem with that. But at 200 lbs, it will need some ass to get it up the hills. I can't do all the work all the time.

Big Ol' Edit - I was just breezing thru the interwebs and found some hits funnier than others..........

    "
    Q) Do Electric mowers have more torque? (RobP62 note, I suppose they meant by comparison??? although this was just a floating statement out there so who knows wtf they meant)

Gas-powered lawnmowers measure motor output in horsepower and cubic centimeters. However, the most critical rating of your lawnmower's engine is the torque. Gas-powered motors have an average power output of between 4.50 and 8.75 ft-lbs. Battery-powered and electric mowers don't have a torque rating.

    (RobP62 note 2 -

    )

    Edit to the Edit -

    HA!

Very cool Tom. Where'd ya get the crabs from? We usually hit up The Crab Bag and eat there. It's a nice place. I've had some nice $2 crabs from a place up here, near Bel Air. We do enjoy OC though. A lot.

It says one bottle will do do a small coupe. I would need three for the entire truck. Whatever. I will try it on the front end to help combat the damn bugs I encounter on the road up here nearer the house. That bottom is always wet and swampy and it's like it's raining through there sometimes. I would like to see if this helps keeping it clean easier.

You should come up here and try your hand at wrapping some stuff on the wife's car. I may or may not have scraped it some myself once, and then recently left some shit in the driveway she failed to see and well, with some sand paper and touch up paint I should be ok but I might try my hand in a wrap. Or a ground kit. It needs new tires finally so we might throw some 19's or 22's on it. Slam it, roll the fenders. Throw a skewp on the roof. Those little fin things along the top of the rear window.

I ended up not getting any. I used one of those stall car washes and they had a 'spot free rinse' feature, which I used, along with the air dry wand. Overall, I should have brought my owh soft brush and sponge because some of the spots were a little tough for me

That’s a good idea! I figured with this setup, it would at least look finished rather than just having the 4 connector pieces bolted on lol

I’ll try the cap for a while longer but who knows I may trade for the rack in future if you still have it. I at least need to try out my sleeping platform and go from there
