Let's say that your truck is all stock, and you can only choose one mod to install.

The choice is between a TRD exhaust and TRD cold air intake.

Which one would you choose and why?

Because that will net you performance increase and the others only net you noise and MAF problems.

Is this really worth it? I keep seeing this pop up... exactly how does the car ride after installing this mod? Does it ride like a sport car?

Definitely doesn't roll like a rowboat in high seas anymore, yes it feels a lot more stable, take off feels flat vs shuddering and jittering before, less axle wrap more power to the ground, breaking feels more solid, lane changes are stable and planted, drifting is more predictable, yes it does feel a lot more sports car like.

It's definitely still a truck though, nothing's going to change that.

Wow! Maybe I should get this instead... I kind of don't like the floating feel while driving.

Have you driven with the bed loaded with stuff before? When I drove with the bed loaded, it definitely feels a lot more stable, which is what I like. When I drive with the bed unloaded, it feels very imbalanced and not stable. Do you think the mod will fix this issue?

It is all user preference I have a COI, and I Like it, sounds good to me when you romp on it , you have that groan to it
As for the TRD exhaust again personally preference. Again I like the coi, and a pedal commander
You will get lots of opinions here, sift through them

Yeah, this is the reason why I was considering the intake... I really like the groan noise. I like hearing feedback when I'm driving and accelerating

If you want some sound, intake and exhaust are great. If you like it go for it. it will definitely giver your truck some added character

I'm certain it would help, my truck weighs 6k lbs so it's pretty much always "loaded" and it rolled bad, sometimes it would feel like it was going to want to step out on me but now it feels deceptively light and flat.

Towing with it (only about 2500lbs) before and after was a huge difference, the tail wagged the dog before vs hardly knowing it was behind me after.

Between the 2, I'd pick exhaust and a new drop-in air filter.

Like others have stated, I'd go with the TRD Exhaust. The intake already pulls cold air from the passenger fender area. With that said, they are both cosmetic improvements to your vehicle. If you want to see noticeable improvement in an exhaust, you'd want to replace everything from your headers back. Depending on where you are, your vehicle might not pass inspection. I installed Doug Thorley Long tubes, URD Y pipe and a Vibrant performance resonator with a Wicked Flows muffler dumped right after the axle. You'll need to source a Rear O2 Simulator otherwise you'll be throwing codes. I got mine from URD but I dont think they make them anymore but you might get lucky. They might have a universal programable simulator, I cant remember. If I was to do it again, URD now has equal length long tube headers, I'd get those instead. I like how my DT's sound though so I'm not complaining.

Neither. My three "mods" on my 4 cyl auto:
    1. Sprint booter
    2. Sumo Springs, front and rear
    3. Better speakers

Neither, both are a waste of money and offer no performance and just increase noise out of a shitty sounding i4 or v6....

First mod anyone should do is an extended rear diff breather up behind the tail light. It's like $20 in parts and darn near anyone who can turn a wrench can do it.

Second mod should be changing all the fluids using high quality synthetics. Engine, front/rear diffs, and t-case. Transmission is up to you. Coolant drain & fill won't hurt either. Treat yo self and ensure it stays running for a long time.
