hey guys got a quick question. when on a dead stop, and when let go of brake and let the truck roll when i accelerate hard from the roll i hear this weird grinding/vibration noise from the front of the truck. it doesnt do it if i floor it from a dead stop, only if its rollin a little then i floor it the noise happens. it doesn't do it through out the whole rpm, only when i step on it in the beginning.. any ideas what this can be, transfer case? tranny?? thanks for any ideas!

Common, but a floppy driveshaft can't exactly be classified as "normal". ;)

hope its not the case too. i'd imagine that the extra torque could help in leading to this issue, especially if you drive it aggressively but who knows. Check under the truck and see if this is your case. good luck.
here's the first thread i saw about it: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/20703-check-your-motor-mounts.html

I have a 2004 4wd. Does the same issue as you. Did you find out what caused the issues? Mine is grinding every stop sign when i do hard acceleratiing. If i slowly hit the gas padle, it drives normal. Any one with the same issues, please drop me some comments. Thanks
