Sounds good fellas, can't really go wrong ordering straight from the manufacturer. I've heard great things about the Icon RXT's as well, and they are a good bit cheaper. There are just so many people that love the Deaver springs, it's very convincing. I don't know if I could ever do rough country, but oh man am I biased - Living in southern Mississippi, the land of huge spacer lifts upfront and lowered rear ends with bro-dozing bubba trucks at every turn sporting huge Ricky Bobby fig newton size "Rough Country" windshield decals. I don't think I could bear it.

At our shop we install more OMEs than Deaver, Icon is the next most common one but in our experience OME and Deaver seem to perform very similarly. What really makes a difference is the way YOU use them and how your money will be best spent. Sometimes even if one is better than the other, for YOUR application the "better" part of the more expensive ones wont mean anything and your money would be better spent on something that does benefit YOUR particular situation

I just ordered ICON RXTs from wheelers they are having a 15% off sale so it saved me a little over a hundred bucks, plus there was free shipping

I've used the OME on a 2nd gen DCLB and currently have Dobinson 111 pack on a 3rd gen DCLB. They both get the job done but the Dobison seems to ride better with a light load and a heavy load. They are a similar construction. If I do it again, I'll get a set from Deaver. More progression would be nice on a light load. If you plan to carry the weight of a rack, RTT and misc stuff full time like your post mentioned, a set of HD shackles and hangars makes a truly noticeable difference, especially over rough surface at speed. I installed some BAMF shackles, not expecting a huge difference in feel, and I was surprised with how much it let the springs work. Hangars were a similar improvement. I forgot to add, if you will be towing anything more than a jetski, HD shackles and hangars are almost a required safety thing, IMO. The composure of the rear end improves dramatically with a trailer pushing and pulling the truck around.

Just a little food for thought on those Dobinson and Dakar leaf springs: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/before-you-buy-australian-springs-for-your-tacoma.772623/

From what I understand both Aussie brands are still based on the hilux shackle design and so don't properly fit the Tacoma shackle. You can trim back the second leaf to prevent the rubbing while articulating

Understood. I guess that I was under the impression that the Dobinson leaf packs sold for the Tacoma already had the required trimming done at manufacture. Maybe @Crikeymike can comment on this matter?

Anyone know if I can just add another leaf to the stock leafs? Trying to be as economical as possible, the icon kit seems like you have to go through the trouble of adding a leaf anyways to get the full 600lbs of load rating, every leaf you add raises the rear end anyways correct? Seems the ome Dakar leaf pack got discounted according to 4wp website

RXT stage 3 owner for roughly a year and they’ve been great. Can’t beat the price and modularity between the different stages.

i’m thinking of pulling the trigger on these
I am sort of confused on if I would need to add the extra leaf they give you could I just throw them on without the extra leaf? Is the pack without the extra leaf give you a higher lift over stock? And are they rated for more weight than stock ones without the extra leaf?
