Airdog's 2012 Prerunner Access Cab (slow) Build

Added solid off-road solid Motor mounts and transmission mounts. Took me about 7 hours to install. Taking the old ones out was the majority of the work. I had to remove my bypass shocks in order to get access to the bolts that hold it to the block. Big hint.. for the removal of the stock motor mounts completely disconnect them from the from the engine block and the engine perch then Jack up the engine up until you can fish the mounts out.

do they incur any additional vibes or can't tell yet?

 

Went for a 10 mile drive. There’s a slight increase in vibes, little bit of more engine noise. But it only seems to be noticeable when you’re looking for it

 

Right on, kinda what I was expecting to read. Is there a website to the mounts, I couldn't find anything..

Most likely I'll be replacing my motor mounts depending on the condition that they are in when I do my head gaskets in the next few weeks. I'll keep these in mind..

 

I think he is only on IG solid_offroad. It was 8 weeks after i ordered that they showed up Ordered Jan 31 showed up March 28.

 

@Airdog do you happen to know the torque spec for the cam bolt for the LCA pivot?

 

Finished up the cab with kilmat. Floors and back wall done with 80 mil.

 

This showed up a couple of weeks ago. Just waiting on the axle housing now.

 

The process of fixing what seems to be the only thing that breaks on my truck has started.

Oh ya....i finshed the rear end install More info and Pics HERE

 

New wheels Trail Ready bead locks and tires Nitto Ridge grapplers. really changed the look for the better.


Also drilled out my front hubs to put in 5/8 lugs to match the rear. Installed new wheel bearings while I was at it. The knurled end was a bit long so I machined it off so I didnt have to drill out the brake discs to get over the knurl.

After breaking another exhaust hanger for the millionth time on the stock muffler...I just bought a magnaflow cat back exhaust that dumps in front of the axle. Its a bit agressive sounding but was smoking black friday deal i couldnt turn down for all stainless steel construction.




and tell me that Ford 9 isnt sexy also!!

 

Bought this frame boxing kit from DMZ offroad almost 4 years ago....just now getting installed.

 

If anyone is looking for a carrier bearing replacement. This is the way to go. Great product from Mitchmadeinc on Instagram. Only requirement is you have to have a rear slip yoke. I noticed no increase in driveline vibes…though I’ve never had any. No increase in noise…matter of fact things feel smoother after the install and removing the stock CB.

Way to tell me this after I just got my shipment from Summit for a replacement Spicer CB. I'll keep this in mind for the inevitable next time. This or go to a one piece, but the clearance may sell me on this one.
