The vehicle is in great shape. The paint does have pinstriping and a few scrapes. I use this truck off-road but I am careful about how I use and maintain it. The interior is excellent and the camper is also excellent. I have a lot of threads on TW that I will link here.

Camper build - most of the build, really - https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/1-bored-clerks-garage-built-camper.457359/

DIY Slider thread - not just my stuff - https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/diy-bolt-on-frame-plates-for-sliders.302192/

Overall build thread for truck - incomplete but maybe still interesting - https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/1-bored-clerks-2013-trd-or-ac-consolidation-build-thread.504960/

Current Rear bumper build - https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/bored-clerks-next-rear-bumper.504895/

    Fridge Mount build - https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/1-bored-clerks-ac-fridge-mount.444149/

There has been a ton of heart and soul put into this truck and it has taken me some very cool places. The camper was built specifically to be tough, light and any condition capable and it has been just that. I'm happy to answer any questions. Thanks!

I added an update to the original post: I'm willing to sell the camper and subframe separate from the truck. I realize that added flexibility may be desirable for those out there that already have a truck.

What are you averaging in MPG on this set up with all the weight on it?
Any video of going trough trails, curious how the camper is holding up to flex especially with all of the windows there.

I don't have any videos. Not a ton of photos either. travelling alone makes all of that jazz more complicated and it just gets in the way of cruising and enjoying myself. Just some photos in my build thread. The camper is mounted on OEM Toyota cab mounts so it is isolated from flex and vibration to a large degree. There are no cracks in the camper at all. No issues with the windows or anything else. If it was hard mounted, I doubt it would last a single off road trip. Isolation is key.

I would say I average around 13.5 mpg. You can certainly get worse and you can get better depending how you drive...like any vehicle. Improving the aero with a fairing between the windshield and cab roof rack would likely make a noticeable difference.

This is sad to see. I know you've put countless hours into this specimen of perfection. Doesn't help you any, but I wish I was ready to buy. I'd fly out and camp my way back to the east coast.

Thanks. It's a solid rig that's really great to travel out of.

13 mpg is pretty sad to see with today’s gas prices but it seems like that’s more or less where these Tacos land regardless. They really do lack power, granted I still think the 4L is a better motor than the 3rd gen junk. I am surprised you didn’t come up with fairing with all the thought that was already put in. Seems like somewhat of a priority since it would probably also improve handling on freeway speeds as well as MPG.

Did you weight out the camper? I’m guessing around 400 lbs? There isn’t that much weight that I can see on it besides the camper itself so it shouldn’t feel overloaded or at the capacity, wander what it handles like especially at higher speeds, off road gravel/corners etc.

I’m intrigued at a very minimum, sold my rig and now I’m missing it. So…. Might be potentially on the market now

I thought about fairing options along the way. It just hasn't been enough of an issue for me to address yet. If I were driving it long distances every day, I would do something about it.

I would say the camper/subframe is in the 650lb range. Some of that is offset by not having a factory bed. I don't find the truck to struggle greatly with the weight. I don't run a front sway bar and still think the truck handles great. You get a lot of lean in corners but it sticks well. A front sway bar (which I have) would tighten it up on the street but I prefer the ride off road without it. I haven't found the camper to be limiting off road at all except for clearance in the upper corners...gotta watch those around trees. Especially when leaned over.

I think the 4.0 works pretty well. But that's all a matter of perspective. I find it more than adequate and can drive at whatever speed I want to pay for at the pump. It would be cool if Toyota made a heavy duty mid size though! A little more torque/HP and big brakes would be awesome for those of us running campers and heavy armor.

I'm happy to answer any questions so keep them coming.

Dropped the price to $31,000. My Ute Bed Flatbed should be showing up anytime (1-2 weeks estimated). At that time, I'll be pulling the camper off of the truck and selling them separately. Two options I'm open to discussing:

    1. Sell the camper as is but separately. Sell the truck as-is with flatbed.
    2. Remove the awning and sell the camper separately. Take the entire aux electrical and refrigerator out of the truck and sell the truck with flatbed. I'll return the interior to stock form. Will retain all of the already installed off road goodies including the winch.

So, if you're interested in talking about any of that, PM me. If you want the truck, camper and flatbed combo, that's available too. I still have the blocks I used to mount the camper to the flatbed. That's how I had it before and it would be the option if you want to potentially remove the camper for daily duties and install it for big trips. There are several interesting options I can think of to make the camper more readily removable.

Just working on moving my plans forward.

    Thanks!
