    Finally installed the GBS and it is not working. Double checked my connections and everything is good. Went through the checklist and everything is working but the GBS. One thing I did not do before the install was to check the alarm system. I took for granted it works. When I tried to test the system I could not get the alarm to go off. How do you test the system short of a major impact? Not sure what to do next short of removing the GBS system.

    Is your fob key near your truck or on you? If so leave it far away and test it.

    The fob was about 30 ft. away. Maybe that is still too close.I will try farther away. I also have the intensity turned to 10.

    the connector attached to the gbs with just one white-green wire connected is the negative trigger. put your fob away, roll the windows down, lock door with your key, wait 30 secs and touch the lead to ground, alarm goes off.
    tap the back window with a nail to test max range. too high a sensitivity and the alarm will go off from outside sounds not related to breaking a window

    Got it working. The problem was the key fob was still too close. Did not know the range of the key fob was so strong. Ended up taking the key fob to the back yard( approx. 37’ away) and then when I tapped the window the alarm sounded. I think I need to back the setting off to a 8 or 9. When I have more time I plan to do more testing. Thanks to all that helped. Much appreciated.

    Thank you! Thank you! Thanks for this forum thread. So helpful in locating and installing OEM GBS. My daughter's significant other had his passenger window busted out and items stolen. Thief didn't open the door so the alarm never sounded. I wanted to let him know that I care about him and felt bad for him. So I started down the rabbit hole trying to figure out how to install an OEM GBS in his truck. Also, incentivized me to do the same. Mine was no problem, plug and play, I have A/T. He has manual transmission, so I'm working out the logistics to make it work and still be factory clean.

    So based on this thread:
    - 3rd gen tacoma GBS kit coming.
    - smaller mic sensor ordered (fits 2015), there is a blank open in center panel.
    - order m/f plugs and m/f pins from hi-1000ec, to make extension to center panel.

    I know I could splice it or install spade connectors, but I want to do it as close to right as possible. Why not?

    @caribe makaira would you happen to know what the connectors behind the red blinking security light in the center console? I would like to make an electrical harness that is plug and play all the way and incorporates the LED in the shorter mic sensor.

    Ok. I looked at post #76 because you mention A33. So, are you telling a slow person like me that A33 is connecting multiple things behind my center console, to make the security led light up? And, if that is the case, are pins/wires to 6 and 12 what I need to tap into to make the LED work on the short mic sensor?

    Also, if you can explain enough so I can get the LED to work, do you have a way I can buy you a beverage of your choice?

    A33 has various circuits to it besides the security LED. And, these circuits differ depending on A/C type. (auto or manual) For the LED on the microphone, I never got an answer from anyone who has it installed and working. (polarity)
