Supposedly I got the truck the same day as Goose's memorial day (Top Gun), which I have not been able to verify. But I named him Goose.

      • I got it and put it on and started working track system to be able to use bike binderz, but it turns out there are only 2 spots that you can actually mount the rail which was deceiving.. I am ending up selling/returning. so if anyone in the seattle area is interested, LMK this week. I have it up on CL right now.

I did not change anything out or go deeper at this point, but I am keeping this on the open projects list for potentially some storage solution or something.

 

Do you have to remove everything to just remove the seats? I don’t mind leaving my seat belts in place on mine

 

Short Answer: To get the headrest off you have to pull the back panel off.
Longer Answer: There's 4 bolts per head rest and 2 you can see, the other 2 are hidden. I bought some extra clips if any broke when removing, but I only broke 2 and i can't even tell 2 are missing. It really was not bad removing that panel and getting it back on. Just finesse it when you are pulling it.

Factory Lift

• Managed to negotiate them down a little on labor but still feel some regret not going after market. having a 3" lift would have allowed for larger tires, however the leveling kit/factory lift will allow for 33s
• 2" Front, 1" Back - replaced shocks, new grill.

Road to bigger tires

• Will still need CMC (i think a cab mount chop) or CMR (cab mount relocate) for further/larger tire flexibility. Will end up doing the CMR since its only a few hundred bucks more.
• A bit over budget on bumpers, probably will get a viper cut done just to have a decent look for a while before I figure out bumpers.
• Doing a bit of tubbing to clear for 35s even though I am doing 33s. Just getting future flexibility incorporated in the event I do end up changing.. but I'd need to budget in regear, UCA probably, unsure what else I would need to consider at this point. More research needed.

Tint

• Went to 15%, XPEL Prime XR Plus from Diamond Window in Tukwila, WA. Completed in 2-3 hours. They suggested doing a front window film as well to help keep the heat out/reflected, extra $300. I wouldn't do it any tint on it though if I do end up doing it. More concerned about cost of replacement if window needs replacing, defrost and all that.

Will add some pictures of interior changes once the climate control/vent rings come back in stock and I can wrap up the interior. Might add some photos before tires are put on with viper cut, but I will add some exterior pictures once sliders are added and new tires are on.

285/75R16 KO2 with Method 701's on (16x8, 0 offset). only trimming needed was the small tab on the rear of the front wheel well. only rubbed slightly cambered and in reverse. more trimming will be required when aired down. Tried to do some before/after for anyone curious.

  • *Note - Did not have to use alligator clips or need to solder. Just crimped onto the add a fuse and added it to the two locations noted in the video and did not need to splice into OEM wires.

  • *Note - the top left button has a clash with a bracket behind the panel - so it cannot be used without modification.

  • *Note - the long wire was still tough/close for routing. ended up making the connection to the main harness right near the driver wheel well cover.
