I was just being sarcastic. There are no truck/car/minivan engines.

The 2.7 is definitely a car engine (if such a thing exists), and its slower then the 3.5 but no one ever trashes it.

My 4.0 2007 ranger was terrible on gas. My taco is way better, even on 33s and about 550-600 pounds of extra weight.

Frame rust is only an issue if you live in places that put salt on the roads which is most of the US. But that is true of most body on frame vehicles in those conditions, not just Toyotas. Down where I live in GA rust is extremely rare, we don't have to coat our frames or any of that goofy shit.

lol dude, of course every second gen doesn't rust in half, and not every 3.5 explodes, and you will get rust problems if you live near the ocean and get that sea breeze.

Only posts I see on it are a couple years dated, but show Cali using salt mixtures. Obviously depends on your locality as well within the state. "Salt is used in both granular and brine form on Interstate 80, U.S. Highway 50 as well as State Highways 89, 267, 49 and 29 in the Sierra. Amounts vary due to conditions."

California uses NaCl, not mag chloride, at elevations.

Unless I hallucinated a salt truck last year.

The video in my link clearly shows them salting the roads and even talks about the brine run off affecting the trees....

"A Caltrans study found 15% of trees along the Tahoe basin highways were salt-affected."

    LOL!

This was WAY before Toyota started engineering BATs (Big-Ass Trucks).

I remember having a Toyota Sedan of some sort...in HS...1985. It had to of been 10 years old and looked like a box car.

EDIT...it was a white Corolla and looked like a taxi. lol
