I already put it in reverse - moved it from 4 wheel drive low to 4 wheel drive to 2 wheel drive etc. Any suggestions, links, replies appreciated.

While in neutral, and set in 4lo, keep cycling from 4lo, to 4hi, wait 10 seconds. You need to get the actuator to move.

Still might need to roll forward and back a bit, when trying to change from 4low to 4hi, make sure you are in neutral.

If it's beeping it may not be seeing the clutch signal, are you fully depressing the clutch when trying to shift out of 4lo?

Thanks everybody - This is what worked - I put the selector switch in 4 wheel low then with the emergency brake on and the trans in neutral foot on brake - clutch to the floor - turned the key to on - just on did not start the truck - waited 10 plus seconds - turned selector switch from 4 wheel low to 2 wheel high - heard a humming sound - 4 wheel icon still on - just the 4 wheels no designation of high or low - put it in reverse - backed up a little - heard a clunk - icon gone - problem solved. Hope this helps someone. I looked a the post on taking the actuator out and working on the contact points - so glad I didn't have to do that.

Make sure the vent hoses on the actuators are connected and not cracked, disconnected or cracked vent lines are one of the main causes of actuator failure.
Also engage your 4wd regularly to keep everything moving and lubricated.

Great you got it to work with that method. But how in the world did you figure that out? !

I hate to admit it but it wasn't on me - I sat in the truck and my Brother-in-Law walked me thru it on the phone - then I wrote it up on TW in case it might help someone else !

Thanks for writing it up! I saved the method in a document for reference. I have the same drivetrain in a 2007.

Hope it's useful - I'll ask my 8 year old how to save it in a document.
