What are my options at this point. I was hoping there was just a coax input so I can tap the video feed driver side kick panel..but this comes with a special plug for the video.

This thread has links to other threads that you may find useful. I used info in the threads that are linked when I connected the backup cam in my 2009 to a JVC head unit in 2014.

It's been 8 years, and I no longer own the 2009. Plus.... I was about 60 when I hooked it up, and I'm older than that now.. so memory may be faulty.
My 09 had camera and harness from factory, but not the mirror display. I added the JVC head unit, and wired a video cable from the kick panel to the head unit location. The wire I ran ended with a video connector like the yellow ones in your picture. I also built an adapter to supply the 6vdc to the camera, since it runs on 6vdc not 12vdc. Your mirror may handle that part for you if you're lucky.

I think your blue connector is an antenna, but I don't know which antenna. You may need an adapter to connect it to your head unit. I'll look to see it I still have any old pics on my computer.

If I have any old pics I'm not having any luck finding them. Looking at your other pic, I think the black connector in post 1029 is your AM/FM antenna wire. That blue connector may be GPS or Satellite antenna. My 2009 was just a 4-cyl Prerunner Access Cab... nothing fancy like steering wheel controls or anything like that. You other extra connectors may be for that type stuff if your truck has that option.

I guess I should've expected the price increase but it doesn't look like they've changes a whole lot. On whatsapp I asked if the new unit address some of the problems of the last one and they responded that "new system is very stable" and they also mentioned that it should release in 1-to-2 weeks tops. I guess I'll wait to see if Alpine makes a vid on it.

So I just hooked up my HDD and it lets you play off it but if you have it set to shuffle it jumps from the hard drive to my saved music on the radio. When I turn off shuffle it plays the next song on the external. I’m not sure if it will shuffle the music on the radio and the external or just stay with the music that I saved to the radio. If you make a folder on you external it will play all the music in the folder in its order. If you don’t put music on the radio and shuffle the music on the external I’m not sure what will happen.

it’s a little delayed when selecting a song to play on the external. I have 50,000 songs though so that could do it. When you copy them over there’s no delay.

totally awesome! Thanks for testing it out. For people with old Tacos like me that don't even have USB or Bluetooth this will be an amazing thing to finally have. I did hear that there is occasional hiccups with playing music via bluetooth (and I'm guessing also with usb connection according your experience) but perhaps a folder on the device itself is the solution for this. Thanks again for checking it out

No problem. I’ve been using zlink with Bluetooth for a year for apple CarPlay and haven’t had an issue since the last firmware update probably 6 months ago. I use the music I saved to the radio a lot now and it works great. Even music videos look great and sound amazing. I just wish I could play music off the radio and use zlink with my gps on my iPhone at the same time. If your using zlink for CarPlay and using gps you can only play music off your phone.

I actually haven't tested if the radio works well in motion in the vehicle yet, but I basically bought a cheap baofeng from Amazon
as well as a mounting system for it (let me know if you'd like the links, it was a recent purchase) and the fm radio works pretty well on it (at least at home) just need to test out on the road next time I'm driving
