    Another update coming your way:

After deliberation between 4 different companies about making a bell housing adapter, I've basically come to the conclusion that it's going to be more expensive and more difficult than just using the 4L60E that I already have.

    The Plan:

I have a build 4L60E(EDIT, 4L75E) from Monster Transmissions. It is a 2wd transmission. I bought a NP261HD transferase out of an early 2000's chevy truck. It's currently being built with a 27 spline input to mate up to the 4L75E, only problem is the transmission isn't a 4wd trans. The 2wd output shaft is longer than the 4wd output shaft, so they're sending me a new output shaft to swap into the 4L75E. Problem Solved, for the most part anyhow. Gotta figure out how to swap that in, I don't have any experience in AT teardown so, might send it off.

My stock transmission and transfercase are going to be for sale. Also have the tom woods driveshaft ill be selling. Need new custom ones to mate to this transfercase.

The Holley Terminator system I'm using is already set up to control a 4L75E. LOL, no it wasn't. it was setup for a 4L60E, the 4L75E is from 2017, which needed different software and a different trans harness. The new transferase is going to be controlled by the manual lever that's going to be on the floor.

    Bye bye stick shift :(

Excuse my ignorance.. but what all is needed for your bell housing adapter? Are we talking just a plate of billet milled to a certain profile that has holes/threads? (I've seen some adapters). I'm curious because I've been thinking this may come up if and when I decide to swap something into my Toyota Minitruck.. but also curious because that doesn't sound too bad to come up with over a weekend... :spy:

the bell housing on the RA60F is actually removable, so it would be better to remove it and fit a bigger bell housing more suited to bolting up to the LS. That being said, I haven't found any options for that or just a billet adapter plate.

Ive also decided to just use the 4L60E, so I guess it doesn't matter anymore.

Got ya.. but it could be possible to use a plate style and adapt existing bell housing to the LS. That would be much more cost-effective for sure..

Well, I know you said plans changed, but if you feel up for it, I might be able to help with an adapter plate.

Ill definitely hit you up if things with the 4L60E go south, but I think the flywheel size is also an issue.

    My shit is all stock.
Look at the RC62F option. Would be way easier to adapt.

At this point, I'm already committed to the 4L60E, I bought a transferase for it and have my transmission scheduled to have the output shaft swapped already.

USPS and UPS have been insane lately. Everything has been showing up delayed, or late. My 261HD transferase arrived almost a week late, and lo and behold, it was missing the 4wd output shaft and adapter plate for my 4l60E. Those luckily were just delivered in record time, but my motor mounts that I ordered a month ago have been yet again delayed. Tonight I think my plan is to get the whole engine bay cleaned up. It's filthy disgusting from some heavy offloading. Everything is stained from dirt. Need to clean up the wiring in the engine bay too.

Its going to be a mission, I need to keep my original harness to run things like power steering and wiper motors and all of that, but I also need to tuck it out of the way so it looks clean. I'm also going to have to figure out how to delete the clutch pedal, maybe even get a new master cylinder without a clutch output. Gonna source the automatic center console as well and use that shifter to control the 4l60e. I nee to redo the floor in the truck as well. I have it dynamatted and raptor lined over it, but it's peeling for some reason.

Started to figure out AC stuff. In az, it's a requirement. [IMG]
Went with the ICT billet compressor relocation kit, and a brand new R4 compressor. This will allow me to run everything off of the accessory belt. Might need a new damper, but we will see when it gets here. The transferase sent me a 4l80e output shaft, not a 4l60e output shaft, so im dead in the water again.
    upload_2022-10-16_14-44-43.jpg

Chris has been more than helpful in answering more of my questions. The tacoma has electronically actuated A.D.D., which this thread taught me how to disable or enable. I'm going to set it up to a switch on my switch pros.

I think the move is to take the entire dash out of my truck right now, while im dead in the water to replace my evaporator and my expansion valve inside the dash, as well as re-coat the floor in something other than raptor liner, I'm thinking of Lizard Skin.

Motor mounts are finally gonna be here tomorrow, then im just waiting on that new output shaft to come in so I can replace it and mate the transmission to the motor and get things dropped into the engine bay and start getting things welded up.
