Aww stop it. My trucks suspension was stock until about 8 months ago. With a quality/proper 2” lift, your truck will ride better. Absolutely no question about it.

My OME suspension handles way better off-road, soaks up those bumps way better. On road truck is planted and is way smoother over imperfections. Also I can load about 300-400 before the rear starts to sag. Shocks are at least 2 times thicker than stock.

You are probably talking about folks installing cheapo generic lifts not specifically designed for a 3rd gen. My lift kit was specifically designed for a 3rd gen Tacoma. This is actually why I didn’t go with beloved 5100s, they are not designed for Tacoma specifically.

Im 100% certain my truck rides better than it did stock, I’m very happy with my lift kit.

Edit: I just remembered my only complaint. I’ve got less down travel now, so I notice it when going over bumps at faster speeds. IFS life… I can feel the front suspension bottoming out. So there, my only complaint.:)

Stock Tacoma's are for old retired dudes that tow nothing and only go to the grocery store.
I had to drive my 2021 stock for two weeks after I sold my lifted 2012. It sucked. I hated
towing my boat with it. Felt like I was driving a Honda Accord. Very car like. After getting my
lift and 285's installed I was super happy to be back in a truck. :benchpress:

    Lights, Lift, more to come...
Like many have stated above, we all have different preferences and needs so getting advice on what lift to get should definitely be taken with a grain of salt. I lifted my 21 TRD OR roughly 2 inches mainly for the looks to be honest. It does have a little bit better weight capacity in the bed now and I can go up in size a little bit with my next set of tires. I went with the Icon Stage 2 kit and here's why. Icon shocks are Digressive instead of Progressive. There are threads on here that break down that difference way better than I ever could here but in short, they ride great on the highway and handle like a dream. Most of my miles are on road despite my delusions of grandeur that I am an "off roader". My kit came with 2.5 Coilover Shock Assemblies up front and 1.5 Reservoir Shocks out back. It also came with replacement overload leafs and hardware. It costs about 2K and I had it installed for $300 with alignment. The truck rides way better than stock and has a lot less body roll which OR's are known for. I am still using my factory UCA's and there are no issues. I measured before and after from the ground up to the bottom of the fenders at the center line of the tires and my truck is now 2 inches higher up front and 1.75 inches higher out back. Icon's work for me and I am completely pleased with them on and off road so far.
    Good luck. Hope this helps.

Plan on spindle gussets and replacing rear spring hangers. They bend. Save up more funds, continue to do more research and get a good quality set of coilovers. Trust me, you'll be glad you did it in the long run. I spent twice the amount needed because I was in a hurry on my 1st lift. Good luck with your truck.

I paid about 2800 CAN for mine so pretty much same you paid. Good quality lift kits are definitely better suspensions than stock.

My truck with the 6112's on 650 pound springs up front and the 5160's with a Wheeler add a leaf, factory overload spring removed, is better off road and on the interstate not to mention the twisties. It will also tow, I have a photo if anyone wants to see it. A photo of the truck towing, that is. LOL. Running around town, however, it rides about like a pogo stick. It wasn't too bad of a ride in town until I put the KO2 E rated tires on it. I'm not saying that it is "better than stock"...better than stock, what the hell is that anyway? (best Al Pachino voice)

I love you man, but I don't believe you. Go drive a new one, then drive yours. I have performed this experiment multiple times.
