TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

yah step couplers make sense. the TRD one has an integrated outlet that on it so I either have Daisy chain it or find one that mimics it.

 

yah that was the plan but was trying to not daisy chain things if I can.

Does anyone have a new coupler from the TRD 4runner that can measure and tell me how big it is and how flexible it is when new? Maybe someone that did not do the conversion yet? I have one on my truck now but its hardened and out of shape but I recall it being softer before. I was going to order another and give it a go but wanted to see before I do.

this would be the newer 4runner/FJ one, not the Tacoma one.

 

go soak it in some hot soapy water to soften it.

 

def was considering that. its looks pretty beat up so may make sense to get a new one but wanted to see before buying another since you have to buy all the couplers for the intake

Not repping them, but a distributor like this has the pieces you can get to hobgobble something together pretty easily!

 

nice ill see what works. Mainly was trying to keep the hobgobble to as little as possible but i guess its like the rest. if it works it works.

Billet housing arrived. Maybe this will give me an excuse to finally install the rest of my HPS hoses.

 

Perfect time to freshen all of them up at the same time. Mine arrives tomorrow.

 

i got mine yesterday. dont know if my urd 170* stat will fit. if not ill get the motorad 180.

 

Might not as it's for a gm engine I think it's a 8100 vortec?

 

believe youre correct on the 8.1
i just dont want any guessing so 180 it is.

 

I got both. Can also and cross reference the t stats too with the part number. Other brands might make 170°

 

Nice! Def I frowned the heater hoses when we did the RIPP packs now for the mail ones up front.

 

Did you not get a t stat with it? The one that comes is a 180 moto rad.

Theres's a whole thread on this topic that had part numbers and measurements but I can't find it. Maybe it's just buried in this one.

Here's the Tundra intake. If I had to guess its 79mm / 85mm. I did not try to find a matching replacement due to the vac line. You'll need a small extension tube as the Taco location is different.

For the airbox side - 1 x 4.5" Silicone Straight Coupler, Black (SIL000353) from siliconeintakes.com. Was only $11 when I ordered.

New MAF has different plug, of course. I bought a couple pigtails and made a new harness to keep stock harness in tact. I can't find part numbers but I'll keep looking.

I trimmed my tube at both inner lines and then put a notch to get around the vac line in coupler. There wasn't really enough room to use the stock red hump connection with the S/C and the URD adapter.

 

@nudavinci64 FYI- pretty sure I got the Michigan Motorsports harness and used half of it.
