On the healthcare stuff, using GoodRx because my insurance will not cover a prescription I just got. Look at the difference in the prices. In my mind, the price should be the same at every pharmacy, or within a few dollars.

I'm addicted to the thrill of the barter.

I've found white guys are boring to deal with when selling something.

Black guys are not afraid to insult you in the same case. It's fun and a challenge.

 

Did some digging on weather sites so I'm not making crap up.

Fargo's record low temperature, NOT counting the wind, was -39 in 1996.

The HIGH that day was -28.

I got the day off from work and the kids were home from school but my wife still had to work so I drove her in and picked her up. I didn't need the car sitting outside all day in that if it wasn't necessary.

For those that have never experienced that kind of cold, the wind makes your eyes water and then promptly freezes them.

 

Bonus round of Fargo weather facts!

We had a streak of 17 days from December 2021 into January of 2022 that didn't go above freezing for the high. The longest streak is 86 days in '64-65.

Largest difference between the high and low in one day was 56° in 2004.

The most snow in one year was 96.3" in 1996. That sucked. For reference, the average is 51.2" Lots of school closings that year. Naturally, I graduated the year before.

Just to book end the crazy weather we get, our record high was 106 in 1988.

 

Oh, for sure the cold was a blade that morning. The Ford Crown Vic I had, at the time, didn't start.

I usually use CVS because The Mart is always such a p-i-a.

 

All I'll say about medications is thank goodness for insurance and copay assistance. My kid is on a medication that is in the neighborhood of $26,000/month. My out of pocket is $15.

He has a different one that looks to be about $350/month that I pay $35 for.

Because that makes sense.

 

Unfortunately I am and always have been a lousy negotiator.

 

And yet you choose to live there...

You folks are either incredibly tough or just plain nuts.
