I can't help but think that every arb bumper is designed only for running over kangaroos...

Doesn't every SAR team need a Coffee Sponsor?

The TSS sensor wouldn’t let me mount ARB lights.

If you want more light, swap out the ARB fogs for some BD Squadron Pros or the like. I've got a set of Squadron Sports in my ARB bumper, they run slightly farther than my headlights, but fill out wider (improvement, but nothing earth shattering). Pros, obviously, would add even more.

I second this. Here’s a link to a bracket that makes putting better fogs in the summit a snap.

It seems like the updated ARB bumper dosent stick out as much as the first iteration of it . So hopefully some Icon Stage 6 with cdc valving and standard coil springs will be enough to work the the newer bumper with a winch.

I'm not seeing any tow points up front on that bumper. Am I missing something?

It doesn’t have any tow points. It’s discussed in this thread for 1st gens which seems odd to me because mine had them. To maintain proper airbag function you they say you can’t recover from the bumper.
While ARB’s reasoning seems sound, it also seems to me that they want people to buy their beefy $350 recovery point. Having said that, the frame end caps on my 1st gen were bulged and close to failure from snatching from its arb points. There’s a whole end cap reinforcement mod on that gen for this very reason.

"the reason that bumper doesn't have recovery points built in is due to the very light nature of the frame out near where the bumper connects to the chassis. Specifically, our engineers designed the bracket to accept controlled winch loads which rarely exceed 10,000lbs, but could not build a system that would work correctly with the crush rates for the airbags and tolerate snatch type loads (which spike extremely fast and often exceed 25,000lbs) at the same time. This is why the factory recovery point is reused since it's back further on the frame and much more robust in design. Unfortunately very few modern vehicles have sufficient structure and strength in the frame horns to allow for solid recovery points to be added along with the bar. You pretty much have to get to fullsize trucks to find a serious frame and rigs like the Tacoma are just too car like in engineering to allow us to include recovery points even when we would like too."

Gotta get one of these if you want a stout recovery point with an ARB. I'm all for it since I wanted to keep proper air bag functionality. If only a wheeling rig, I'd get a different bumper, but for all around use, ARB is probably the safest out there. Has proper crumple supports and stuff, not just solid steel bumper to frame. Unlike all the rest, ARB properly tests and rates all their stuff.

my man, I’ve still got my locust belt buckle and wear it daily (I’m 35 and still weigh the same-ish as high school). Still have the 3” cd and vinyls - I saw them live at like 14 and that was that. Only grindcore band I ever really liked but their shit was real and the logo is undeniably badass. And sadly yes. Rip Gabe.
