I have these bed light strips and highly recommend them. Rather than wiring to the cargo light switch on the dash - I like having a push button in the back of the bed - when you need light you are most likely at the back of the truck. I would not like having to walk to the cab, realize my keys are in the house, etc. I definitely wanted a setup with the button right there. Also it is wired to the battery with its own fuse so doesn't risk any of the truck wiring.

A pin switch on the tailgate in parallel to the door switches resolves the LONG walk to the cab.

Leveled with Bilstein 5100 shocks, Falken Rubitrek AT 265/75 tires, Redline hood struts, R4T tailgate lock, Matt Gecko LED strips in bed and under hood, WeatherTech hood guard, OEM bed mat, Husky floor mats, Carhart seat covers, Grille replacement with Toyota letters, Sony AX6000 head unit, OTT lite/mild tune, and an occasional splash of fuel additive.
I installed gecko strips. Ran hot wire to front up drivers side inside piece of flexible plastic shield. Grounded in rear. Mounted small switch near power outlet in bed. I also bought a strip for under hood. All works great.

No money, all went to truck...
If I already have the OEM bed lights, is there a way to easily wire up LED strips to it?

You could pull the taillights and tap into the factory wiring that feeds the pigtail from the OEM bed lights. Someone on TW may be able to make a T-harness or know where to get one to avoid tapping.

    Here's my contribution.

    (4) Diode Dynamics RGBW strips tied back to their Bluetooth controller. Controller wired to one of the switches on a Nilight switch bank that I cut into the cubby door. The switch bank is wired down underneath the trunk and up to the front where it connects to the battery.

Extremely bright setup and dimmable all the way down to 1%.
