Question about your brake setup. It that GM master cylinder directly connected to your stock brake booster? I've heard it's possible to ream out the mounting holes of the MC to get it to fit to the two bolt brake booster, is that what is done here? Is there anything else involved to get it to mate up correctly like modifying the plunger / push rod?

Yes the holes were reamed out slightly and haven’t done anything to the plunger yet. It’s been sitting for a year now

Painted the back half. Got shocks on and got the fuel filler neck connected. Brake lines ran and fuel pump wired. Need to run the fuel lines to the pump, fill everything with fluids, go through everything and tighten bolts, hook up the hydro assist and bumpers

After watching the most recent Finnegan's garage where he was building a rear floor and tub for that yellow drag car, I'm never welding sheet metal again. He riveted it and it looked far less miserable. Maybe look into that?

Hahaha that was my reaction too. He’d be better off trying to weld all the IFS back on and trade it in or some shit.

If you get rid of your T4R without finishing it, I'mma break mah foot off in yo ass. :smack::rant::der:

Excepting the fact that I'd have four linked the rear end (or left it four linked rather, just with longer links with better triangulation), especially with the fuel tank relocation, and I'd probably only run 36s on it, you're doing exactly like I like to do to the OG4...if I had the $$$$$ and a new RAV4 Hybrid for a daily driver.

Edit: if I had the $$$$$. I would have you ditch the leaf springs, triangulated four link the rear end, install Rad Flow coilovers with adjustable resis on all four corners and I'd buy it from ya. But as the saying goes, if mah aunt had balls she'd be mah uncle. :p

Business write off if I do decide to build another one and ehh the stock links on the 4Runners limit everything. Didn’t want to links in the rear. Also if I’m going tons I’m not going below a 40. Starching the wheel bad to keep from cutting the doors was the only way.

I wasn't talking about keeping the stock links. With the relocated gas tank, you have all the room in the world under there to build a proper double triangulated four link setup. If I was going to buy it from you, which as much as I might want to, I couldn't afford, I'd be paying you to lose the leaf springs and convert it to a double triangulated four link/coilover rear setup. And you're right. I mis-typed...I'd go with 38s--probably TSL-SXs--with tons. 36s were something I was postulating about with Todd for a budget-build.

Honestly, though, the only real limit I can see with the stock four link...assuming you beefed up the links with the $1600 set of Total Chaos links...is that if the down travel wasn't limited by the shocks, the coils would fall out of it at full droop. Otherwise, it seems to flex well enough for probably anything I'd want to do with it.

Still...if you sell it before you finish it and wheel it, I'm going to have my Wicken cousin hex you with uncontrollable explosive flatulence at inappropriate times. o_O

hahaha. Tell your cousin to lay off lmbo. I wouldn’t touch it if I sold it to anyone. That would be on them. If I don’t finish it then it will be parted out and the Frame and body sent to the scrap yard.

also so it doesn’t clutter up Todd’s build and mine is useless at this point. Look at this company.

This is why I’m planning on smaller axles. Trying to find a set of JK / JL D44’s because I only care to run 37’s, MAYBE 40’s down the road. Going to check out a 3rd gen runner Thursday that may be my sas candidate.

I’m also planning to relocate the gas tank and go to a double triangulated 4 link on coilovers in the rear, which is why I was asking about your rear tub. But I’m also going to do a 1” or 1.5” body lift on it, which will help me to not have to tub as much.
