I used to hook up lights in the bed or grille on my 3rd gen Tacoma. "RAPTOR LIGHTS" before everyone used raptor lights. Grandkid always liked that.

Ended my almost 2,000 mile trip from Travis AFB, CA to Minneapolis, MN today. Nothing like going on terminal leave and immediately going on a road trip!! I’m only a couple hundred miles off 200k now so a bunch of MX work to be done!

What are the signs of a bad lower control arm or upper control arm?

I get a weird “clunk” randomly going over bumps… like speed bumps mainly, somewhere in the front end. I was under the truck checking things out but everything looks to be in fairly good shape… nothing obvious except both my drivers side UPC and LCA outer bushings have some oil/greasiness to them. I even took out my radiator support bushings to inspect but they look to be in great shape. So, the only thing I can think of is those UPC/LCA drivers side bushings. The bushings themselves look fine, just some oil/greasiness as mentioned. Nothing else looks loose, worn, etc.

    Any thoughts?

Done by me: decals, plastidip, and vinyl. More to come. Not done by me: Icon front/rear suspension; Total Chaos UCA’s; Method wheels/34” Falken tires; Prinsu cab rack/LED light bar; V1Air compressor piped to a 2.5 gallon underbed tank; Pelfreybilt front/rear bumpers; Smittybilt front winch.
Took a few days to make with kids and what not, but built a swingout tire carrier using the 4x Innovations hinge/latch kits and some tubing. Plan to add a drop down table and maybe Jerry can holders in the future, but will definitely have to relocate the backup camera and probably the license plate.98C0EAD3-C87F-4AED-8D7D-9E85294E641A.jpg

I just rolled over 100,000 on my 2005 TRD OFF ROAD. I just had to replace breaks rotors and calipers and address a power steering leak. I need a return line but I got a kit from Toyota to replace both lines. But the aluminum nut snapped in the rack and me and my shop can't weld a nut on to pull it out so guess what new rack and pinion and an alignment.

The steering wheel was pulsating when I was breaking and pulling because 2 pistons on one of the calipers were compressing and warped the rotor and cause uneven wear on the pad.

I got a new frame in 2019. Should run like new now. Unless the head gasket goes in the next 100,000 and then I'll replace that and keep going till the motor dies and replace it with a V8. Fun shit to fix and keep a nice truck going all these years.

Definitely always trying to find more storage in the truck. My front passenger seat and floor are always a mess. Came up with this. All scrap and some hinges. Next step is to either paint it or wrap it in carpet material. Never have passengers but I don't think it would kill someone to throw there feet up there for a bit.

I find some comfort in knowing that other people use the passenger side as the catch all temporary storage

Thanks man yea I bolted some angle steel from home depo and widened the holes. Cut them down a little then used existing holes in the truck and noted brack down then bolted abs to that. Nice thing about abs is if you heat it up you can mold it how you want it. Once it hardens it’s solid.

Received the mounting hardware from UpTOP Overland Friday and got them mounted and moved my recovery gear into one and my trail clearing equipment ( axe and tree saw etc) in the other
