Not a real buisness per say, just some side action. I do a little custom work here and there, so far stricktly for forum members here and iH8MUD.

Happy to volunteer as a Pine Barrens trail guide if yous make it down this way! Lots of cool history in the area accessible by fire trail only

I would be interested. What rating would you give the trails? I am still stock with skid and 32s

Aside from the occasional mud hole, I've seen stock subarus make it no problem. It really only depends on if it's rained recently and the current state of the trails. You can certainly find some deep ones but they're off the beaten path. If you stick to the main fire trails they're typically very well maintained.

Yeah, I spent a lot of time riding ATV's down there in the 90's (when no one bothered you for it) and I don't think I saw a rock bigger than a piece of driveway gravel. LOL.

I'd love to do a trip down there though. Also looking to do the TNJT in the spring at some point. Since I'm fairly close to the northern end I'd start there and do the first leg just to get a feel for it.

@Boco10 I'd be up for a day trip starting from High Point, NJ and ending near Round Lake Revervoir in NJ but that section is almost all paved roads from what I've read. Maybe a some of the Catskill guys want to put something together sometime. I'd be in if it's nothing crazy, I'm just stock and not looking to damage a truck I have payments on still.

Good morning TW. i live near Binghamton NY, and am in the process of an overland build. Getting close to done, but will probably never be finished.

I’m definitely down for some travel, and offroad/overland adventuring. I would be bringing my family along, 10yr old and a 7yr old, and my wife, and probably the dog (overly in your face friendly boxer), so family friendly is good.
You only get one shot at raising these kids, so i’m trying my best to do it right and expose them to positive experiences.

If at any time someone or a group of people are looking to put together an adventure, I’d be interested and more than willing to help in every way. Planning routes, interesting history lessons about the areas, setting up fuel stops, and putting together a potential list of individual persons specialties or additional training they may have or needs they may have (like medical, dietary, safety, security, etc..) among other requirements.

Currently i have from the 21st of December till the 3rd of January off from work and would be interested in doing something the day after the guy in the red suit brings some children gifts.

Feel free to reach out, or please point me in the right direction to help make this happen.

some of my skills and or attributes that i can bring to the group would be

Mechanical skills (i do all my own work, minor to fairly major), welder/fabricator, level headed, don’t drink more than a bear a year if that ( don’t have a problem with anyone else indulging in some drinks but not interested in babysitting your drunk ass either), aways willing to lend a hand or a tool or a part if i have it, self sufficient (been camping/hunting/fishing/outdoors all my life), not afraid of hard work, respectful, a leader but not an asshole (more than willing to take a back seat, i absolutely don’t know everything and am more interested in learning what you may know than pretending i know), problem solver, maybe more i can’t think of at the moment…

my wife is not only a great woman and mother, but is an educator and specializes in developmentally challenged youth, i can’t volunteer her, but she is a caring warm person who loves to see children succeed. She will most likely be along for all trips.

Again, reach out or point us in the right direction. We’re looking to have fun, and to help people have fun in the outdoors/overlanding/adventuring.

    Thanks,

Hey bud! Lundy road is the same. I did get busted on my Ktm, going in past the creek. Long story. Are you still off roading? I think you sold your taco? How's the house?

Nice build. I’m in dutchess and not quite as far along as you are. I’m still riding on stock sr5 wheels and suspension. I’m basically set up as a camping rig until I can find the time and money to complete my build but I assume I’m 2-3 years out financially. Just introducing myself.

Good afternoon to you sir! I don’t think any of us will ever be as far along with our builds as we’d like to be, including me. It seems as though when i check something off the top of the list, 3 more “to do” items have appeared at the bottom of the list. That’s part of the fun for me though, designing and building to suit our needs.

You said “basically set up as a camping rig…”. Camping and enjoying where your at in the moment is where it’s at anyway, so enjoy your setup while you build out it’s capabilities. You’re not to far from me in the grand scheme, so maybe we’ll see each other out there!

Up here in Saratoga County if I can help with welding, cutting, install or just stop by for beer. I guarantee I have your beer, as long as you like PBR.

Orange County here. This NY thread is pretty quiet. I find myself on the CT thread quite often, it's pretty active.
