A bit of a strange question I guess, but everybody that has swapped out there old grille for a pro grille. What did you put in the camera hole if you didn’t buy the camera? I would love to put a camera there, but i don’t think I want to spend $400 on the front camera from Toyota. Is there another option for a camera that will fit that hole? Just don’t want to have a hole in the grill with nothing in it. Thanks

There is no camera hole? On the aftermarket grilles at least. Very few people buy oem

I myself avoided the whole pro grill fiasco and went total after market aluminum grill. Have been very happy with it very durable and easy to touch up with black paint when needed. Plus mine has no extra holes that need filling.:D

There have been several threads on 'anytime upfront cameras' that include reviews and install details. You might start here: Anytime Front Camera options? | Tacoma World and just follow the links or search the term. There are several options I believe based on your budget and technical ability you may prefer one over the other. You know you best, so you can investigate and decide.

Is there a dummy camera or plug that folks have used to fill the camera hole? I don't know that I want a camera either but I'd like something to fill the camera hole that looks decent. Is there a toyota part for it?

There is a dummy plug, it comes with the “trd lift heritage grill”. I sold mine, with the grill. I don’t know the part number though.

I was looking for the same thing. Found a part number if you’re not trying to spend on a front facing cam. $10 in most dealerships.

This camera fits with very little grinding.
You can configure it 2 ways like in the pic but the top pic was how I used it. Also it’s from the same company as the anytime back or front camera system

I have this camera, and used a step bit to slightly enlarge the hole. The camera fits in tightly and looks good.

Unfortunately, the video quality is not great. The camera supports AHD format (?), but when I cut the wire to use this format, the screen goes black. So I guess the head unit doesn't support it. Bummer, I'll probably remove it and put the plug in, then drill a hole for the original camera, as it's video quality was definitely better.

I have not installed it mostly because the hole is not really noticeable and dealer advises to glue it in which is permanent. I will likely use the hole for the Anytime Front Camera mod in the future since it would be super helpful on the trails to get around tight obstacles.

no need to glue if you buy the holding bracket. It screws into the grille using metal screws which secured it in place.

Well, the anytime camera doesn’t fit in the oem hole. I’m going to have to figure out how to get it to fit in there.
