NEED HELP - Wiring rear aux light with reverse light integration

Hey all, I've searched and am not finding exactly what Im looking for. I just installed a new rear bumper (why... that's for another time). With the bumper I installed 2 sets of rear aux lights one set amber, the other set clear. Id like to have each set of lights controllable individually from a switch in the a cab and also Id like the clears to come on when the reverse lights come on. Im looking at the Cali Raised Dual function switch with the Dual function wiring harness. How can I incorporate the clears to also come on when the reverse light do?

The clears need to be wires independently to the reverse lights. If you want them to come on with the ambers as well, you'll need to figure out relays to keep the reverse lights from coming on (back fed) with the ambers. Not easy, the way I see it. Keep them separate.

 

Relays and diodes.

 

A three way rocker is fun for this. On would be on, off would be off, auto would be on with reverse.

My DIR w aux output redirects the parking light circuit from plate lights to aux output which is kind of an in-between option, doesn't blast extra reverse lights during the day (not that it's a waste really but it's a bit of a "look at me" sort of thing) and gives you the option to have them off when in reverse at night if (for any reason) there's a reason you want that (camera glare, backing up to a wall, just want to be stealth for some reason) by turning off parking lights.

To prevent backfeed you can go ground switched so on would be ground to frame, off would be float the ground and auto would tie ground to the reverse circuit. But you'd need a relay to turn reverse from + to ground for that, and the relay to power the lights as well.

Alternatively, power switched and diodes so the relay circuit or an in-cab switch feed power through diodes to a relay coil to drive the lights.

Another option is a switch-pros or auxbeam or garmin programmable unit with reverse as one of your aux triggers.

Also worth noting, the reverse signal is available in cab so you can tap it there and have all your relays in the cab as well, or you can have relays in the engine bay or rear of the vehicle. If your relays are all in the back then you might want to tap power from the tow harness, otherwise you're running fused power from the battery all the way back there.

No need for relays, the lamps are 20 watts. Dual switch and diodes.

I used this harness and it works exactly as you want. Just wire the ambers independently, or put them on the "on" circuit of the harness.

 

I just wired mine up...never mind I see you are trying to get them to come on with the reverse switch etc. Ya, I just installed the Caii Raised switch to control off road lights.

 

How do you like that bumper? I was just looking at the same one.

 

Also interested, have you gotten a chance to check what sized shackle fits in the recovery points?
