SAS'ed 3rd Gen Tacoma

15k is not bad at all. I’ve spent about the same amount on my truck and it looks nowhere near yours.

 

1. I need 40’s now. That looks good.
2. Nice to see an SAS Tacoma that doesn’t have what looks like a 6” lift.

I’ve spent probably 5k more than him on suspension alone and mine looks like a sweaty turd compared to his.

I think you guys are missing the fact that it was $15k plus what he sold his previous long travel suspension for. Additionally, I'm certain that $15k was suspension effort only. Not bumpers, lights, winch, etc.

Lastly, I assume most of this install was self performed, so I doubt that $15k is including labor and materials....

All that to say... that SAS didn't cost only $15k.

 

I never said anything about cost. My other post was comparing costs though. Also self installed.

Based on his post and the build link it seems like at least some of it was shop built. Pretty good deal if it was all shop built. Labor adds up pretty fast. I know mine wouldn’t be where it was if I had to pay for labor.

Where are the dudes from that bracket lift thread complaining about “safety” and how any aftermarket part compromises the entirety of the vehicle.

Ahhh! 1st Gen'er phoning in. Another one of these posts that you'd come to expect from a 2nd Gen owner.


The DB thread was about a guy complaining that his lift couldn't pass inspection and was looking for a defense. I'll stand by my assumption that the OP had no idea what happened to his Taco when he handed the keys to the shop for the work.

This thread is about someone who completed a goal and is not looking for a solution.

Two completely different subjects about major mods.

 

I’m just poking fun, calm yourselves. We’ve always had 3rd gen guys in this forum that freak out about aftermarket modifications. Even a simple Bilstein shock replacement is too much for some as that thread I’m referencing showcased.

Congrats to OP on what looks to be a really cool and well done build.

 

Top of the line Billies are so far away from the main subject that thread. You ask two folks about the capability of mods on any forum and you'll get three opinions. I've been on forums where you get shamed for not going with the best suspenders available.

I just hope 3rd Gen folks can show more class when the 4th Gen comes around.

 

I for one will not show any class to a disgusting 4th gen owner. Ew gross.
