After my lift was installed i would get a small vibration in the front passenger side. At first i thought maybe it the CV because i haven't installed the diff drop yet , but that not the case diff drop is on and the vibration is still there. I think it a rotational vibration due to the way it feels. Its not there all the time though . Anyone else have this issue??

I had/ have that issue. Try swapping your front tires and see if it goes to the driver side, that was part of my issue, I had new tires and I guess they turned on the rim or something. I got them balanced and it went mostly away.

I have done several vibration experiments with my lifted 07. The factory torque specification for the the 2 Front Differential bolts is 101 Ft/Lbs according to my 06 Factory manual. That's tight, I mean really tight but important. My Toytec Diff drop instructions said 50-70 Ft/Lbs or torque to factory specs.

    Round 1
With the Diff Drop installed and the bolts torqued to 70 Ft/Lbs, the vibes vary but are rather intense around 40 and 60 mph, making driving the truck less than an enjoyable experience. At 90 Ft/Lbs the vibes were still fairly intense at primary cruising speed of 65 Mph. Not good.

    Round 2
With the Diff Drop removed and the bolts torqued to 101 Ft/lbs, the vibes were much less noticeable so I was definately heading in the right direction. Now comes my 2 foot breaker bar. After torqueing beyond 101 Ft/Lbs with the breaker bar, said bar was bending and had me concerned it would snap, I estimate I torqued to about 110-115 Ft/Lbs. At that torque, my only vibe is around 40-45 Mph and is not very noticeable. In fact, it drives about as smooth as it did before I embarked on my Diff Drop weekend project.

In hindsight, I recall my breaker bar bending severely when I broke the bolts initially but I thought it was thread locker. In my manual, I saw no reference to using thread locker so I did not use it. I think I'm close to the original torque level now and am happy with it. I will probably recheck the bolts next weekend.

    My Lift and Drivetrain Specs:
Icon Coil Overs cranked to 2.5" of Lift, Factory UCA, No Sway Bar, AAL plus 3 degree shims, 1-piece Tom Woods Drive Shaft.

    Pics:
Even though the spacer shown is 1", it does not provide 1" of drop, or any significant amount of drop on the Front Differential. It does change the angle slightly. I had the Diff Drop kit in a lifted 05 and pulled it out for similar vibration issues but thought I'd experiment on my 07. Lesson learned, no Diff Drop for me and check the torque on the bolts meets factory specifications.

I had the vibe before i dropped it. i was hoping it was going to solve the problem. It is very intermittent i was hoping to find it before it gets worse.

SnoBoarder, first thing I'm gonna do is torque those bolts. thanks man. I'm curious about why you shimmed the back? Wouldn't the TW drive shaft suffice? I've heard its a PITA to use shims?

At the time, the best reports from existing 1 piece drive shaft users with a double cab indicated that the shims would help with the pinion angle and generally improve the driveline angles so I felt it was worth it to drop them in and they were easy to install, but I do want to run the truck without them if I get a chance. My 1-piece was a noticeable improvement compared to the Carrier Bearing spacer so I'm happy with that investment.

I would (or have your mechanic) grab a big torque wrench and push those 2 bolts to factory torque levels with no Diff drop spacers, that may still help you out or minimize some of the vibrations. Also, record the speeds at which you experience the vibrations because there are several components that can cause issues.

    Options:
    1. Carrier Bearing spacer on drive shaft
    2. 1 piece drive shaft with or without 2.5 or 3 degree shims
    3. Some have had the Rear TSB's and complained of vibes and have gotten a new Front Differential under warranty. Also, T-SB-0132-08 may apply to you.
    4. Road force balance your tires.
    5. Aftermarket UCA's will allow you to get a new alignment with optimal specs.
    6. Front Diff drop (not too many are recommending it anymore)
