That's cool and it was a nice gesture, and I'm sure the truck driver was very thankful.

I'll be a naysayer and say maybe they should leave that up to the authorites who could close the road for everyone's saftey, and let a licensed, insured, and bonded profesional handle that. In the event something bad happens. No reason to put yourself in financial Jeopardy.

Who knows, maybe there isn't anyone around to show up and handle it.

They just don't like change and don't see the future of better batteries and charging and infrastructure. They think the way things are now is what they will always be for EV's. BUt they're wrong.

You'll get a fat ticket in Colorado for that. I got lucky once from Colorado Highway Patrol and haven't pulled anyone out of a ditch since. Pretty stupid anyway considering how people drive.

Pretty impressive pulling power. No way in hell any other 1/2 ton truck would do that.

Tesla 3 battery with over 300k miles on the original battery, even in cold hard-on-the-battery Canada.
    https://www.autoevolution.com/news/...mark-here-s-what-you-need-to-know-194534.html

What people don't realize is that the early EVs did not have battery management like modern ones. The early Leafs would have batteries that rapidly depleted after several years because they lacked charge and battery management systems and people charged them to full every day, which is exactly how you kill an Li battery. And thus this idea is born that the EV batteries will die after several years and need expensive replacement when that has already been solved long ago with technology improvements and is a non-issue. Tesla batteries are designed for a 300k-500k lifecycle, which beats most ICE engines. Keeping your Tacoma just 10 years and 200k miles isn't going to outlast a modern Tesla battery. The batteries also do not just die either, the range gradually reduces over time. A model 3 at 100k is at 97% original range in the article, and the one with 310k and extensive supercharger use (which is hard on the battery vs L2 charging) is at 80% original range. Similar to if you had a 300k mile vehicle with the original engine, the fuel economy isn't going to be what it was when new.

Teslas new cobalt free LPF batteries offer even greater substantial improvements in battery life expectancy over the Li batteries, without the degradation issues and offer 2x-4x life expectancy, literally making it a possible 1 million mile battery. So much of this anti-EV rhetoric is looking at data and talking points from 12+ years ago with the first mainstream EVs like it is still relevant. No need to buy one if it isn't for you of course. I've got a 20yr old 200k Tacoma as well and it is a great truck, I wouldn't trade it for an EV. But regurgitating very dated if not ancient narratives on EVs that have long been overcome isn't helping anyone.

Awesome. I had my $10000 powerwall at Home replaced after 14 months. I’m really happy the planet is doing better ! Cuz man those lithium miners sure need job security.

What happened to your Powerwall? I have 3 that are over 3 years old with no issues. In that time I have run them down to 0% one time, as well.

I’m sure Tesla just chucked your “bad” Powerwall in a landfill.

My brand new vehicle ICE engine also failed at 14 months. Cost $12k in repairs. What a nightmare.

A Gladiator. Never again will I make that mistake, for ICE trucks it will be Toyota for life.

Tesla wouldn’t tell me, gave me a “powerwall stopped charging” error with an always on warning lights… took a whole month to get it replaced, and the worst part was the entire system went into some failsafe mode so I didn’t generate solar for a month and we had a power outage which clearly my fancy system did Jack shit for.

also tesla customer care is just about the worst of any company known to man. But I know this after my issues with the 2 teslas I had… blame me for giving 300k to suck daddy elons dick of early adoption.

I’m going to wait a whole lot longer before another one of these “futuristic” products.

3.6. It was Magnuson supercharged, so not stock to be fair. However it was also the same company (Magnuson) that Toyota uses to supercharge their trucks as one of the most reputable suppliers to OEMs on the market. Details in post #579 and on. I'm pretty sure the engine was defective, and the supercharger just sped things along. Plenty of others run them without incident. My Tacoma ran a Magnuson for 5+ years and never had an issue.
