So I recently had some Falken Wild Peaks installed. I have waited and bit my tongue since because I’m hoping I don’t jinx it, lol.

It “appears” that swapping tires from the OEM ones has silenced the infamous tap that comes from the dash. Some say that hitting the pillar solved it for them as it snapped the plastic pillar in place. Didn’t work for me. Wedging something in between the pillar and dash never worked either. (I agree with some it’s sounds like it’s coming from the 4WD control module(?).

Folks, I can’t tell you how crazy cool it feels driving the Taco and not hearing it tap for EVERY bump on the road. Hoping it lasts the life of the tire!!!!! But if anything, these tires have been a win win win.

I see a thread about wildpeaks, I read it. Best tire ever made.

OP, maybe it was just bad balancing of the tires you had before? Either way congrats.

The Taco never had balancing issues with the OEM tires. But that tapping noise was too much to bear sometimes. It drove me nuts.

However, after the switch, the Taco takes bumps a lot better and for some crazy reason, it deadens that tap over bumps.

For those of you that wrestled with it, you know how annoying that is :frusty:
